Note: I have re-edited this entire post so replies for the next 10 or so pages may not make sense.
Quick stuff on how the next couple of rounds are going to work:
1) Round 2 will be one on one. The opponent with the higher score wins, and the person with the lower score is eliminated.Judging system will remain the same. 6 people will be left after this round.
2) Round 3 will work the exact same way, 3 people remaining
3) Round 4 will be orgy-style, with the remaining 3 people competing to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
Round two matchups are out!
I made a video, but my movie editor doesn't like Hypercam apparently AND didn't cooperate so the music synchronization AND music lags and stuff.
And Youtube destroyed the quality as well.

I think if we want this to happen we've got to work out the judging.
I think we ought to simplify the judging system found in the wiki. We will not subtract points, only add, on a scale of 0 to 5, with 0 being the worst, and 5 the best. Still the same categories: Smoothness, execution, difficulty, tempo, variety, innovativness, and filming.
(Ex. Person A is rated on all seven categories. His/her scores are: 3, 4, 2, 4, 1, 0, 5. Person B is also rated and his/her scores are: 4, 4, 3, 4, 3, 2, 3. Person A's total score is 19, Person B's is 23. Person B wins.)
And also, for the drawing, I have a program that does just that. Plug in the names/numbers and it gets shuffled. 
I could use that and make a video to prove it.

Yeah...I kind of had second thoughts after posting that. I guess I'll be in charge of compiling the results from the judges, and making sure there is no bias then. Because if I was a judge....everyone else would hate me forever.

Alright, so I'm guessing the top whatever are the best, and we can use them in a team collab? (competitive?)
Anyways, just some stuff, but either
1. We do 3 rounds of popcorn battles, then seed people accordingly.
2. We just randomly pick names out of a hat to battle.
I like #1 better because personally, I don't want the top 4 people of YR to face each other in a first round. -

dude, as a beginner, it's extremely hard to judge in the separate categories
we're not trying to be offending, but the fact is, you need to have experience to a certain level before you can judge accurately...

@Judges: Please watch the videos several times and note the scores. Do not favour anyone.
@Participants: Please submit the videos on time - Or else you'll be eliminated (No second chances here).

WE NEED 7 MORE PATICIPANTS!
Some changes:
- Spinners get only ONE WEEK for their videos.
- judges till get 4 days (So, each round lasts for 1.5 (approx) weeks)
Some more stuff:
- First Two rounds will be orgy-like.
- Each of the first 2 rounds will eliminate the 2 with the lowest score - So by the 3rd round we will be left with 16 and we can follow the SSB tourney-table onwards.
We'll probably get enough members by wednesday, so 25/3/2009 (Wednesday) is the DL for Videos (Earlier is possible).
So, ROUND 1 starts on THURSDAY!

- Do so for each round and post a picture/video of the end results (Of the program).
- Collect the scores from the judges (The score will be doubled to make it on 100). Take an average of all the judges and post it here.

Ignore hoiboy's post...when everyone sends me their videos, I'm just going to email them all to the judges. I doubt any of you would rig the scores anyways. I'll PM all the judges with details later.

style/appeal- based on personal opinion. i prefer smoothness of koreans, some(alot of ppl) prefer JEB stuff(tw sonics and lots of busts and wipers and stuffz)
this is based entirely on the judges preferences, it shouldnt be a category
filming- this is unfair. if a person has a bad camera because they cant afford a good one, they shouldnt be marked down for it... they could be doing an amazing vid. Unless u just cant see wtf is going on... but like cameras with at least quality where it might be a little blurry yet u can see the individual tricks are good. also, angle really doesnt matter that much... it doesnt degrade the combo.
The only thing filming should be counted for is if the hand goes out of the screen. thats it
just my opinion. -

We put filming in place for those moments when the pen goes off screen and such. Video quality...not as much, but if you guys have watched ChauTran's WT R3 video, you'll understand why video quality can take away from a combo.

Appeal is not only personal preference. This would be more based on the general video, how every trick is done/executed as well as timing and such.

yet again more "judgemntal-ness" about my experience on how to watch vids. dont worry at all. i can tell what different styles of spinning are. korean, japanese and such. i'll judge based on the POV of a person who spins like that. i'll be generous with the filming category too, i understand how frustrating it is to spin well but have a crappy cam quality. difficulty and flashiness. there is a difference between the two and i know what it is. but if someone can make a difficult combo look flashy it's even better.
anyway, i just wanna say that this tourney isnt too serious and it's for fun, so quit calling me noob, and just dont think too much on it. god. -

The majority of the submissions are Youtube videos...however I have received video download links. I uploaded the non-Youtube ones already to hoiboy's Youtube channel (thanks hoiboy! ) Anyways, there won't be much of a difference, since everyone's video will be on Youtube. But if the quality really sucks...I can probably provide a download link, but I can't guarantee it.

Please fill up the excel sheet as you would normally. Once the Average is calculated, FrozenIce will deduct it himself. -

I was looking at your video K-Ryder and it was incredible. I'm a little worried about the length of your combo, though. I think that the max amount of time you had was 20 seconds to spin and 10 seconds to do other stuff. I just don't want you to get in any trouble. Nice combo!
