Where did you learn about pen spinning and how was the first few months of it like for you practising and try not to be noob?
I learned it through.. Umm.. youtube when I looked up pen tricks. Saw JapEn 1st and thought it was really cool and become one of those guys.
I started on January 2008 so it's been over a year for me.
The first 9 months I could only do the tricks and not do any freestyles. Didn't learn how to freestyle until October 2008... during those 10 months I knew at least 30 tricks -

i had actually learned how to sonic and TA in late sept. then i got really serious in october. near the end of actober my friend got me into rubix cubes... and i got distracted and strayed away from the spinning path. in late november, i picked up my pens and realized i had lost charges, 34 sonics, thumb spins, and such. plus my sonic went flat. so i re-learned everything and by january 09. things began picking up and i had sped my way thru hybrids and then moved onto simple combos. since then i have practiced smoothness, and and other tricks. as of now i can produce an incositent bakfall, the occasional multiple bust, and am starting K4LC on my left.

Well it all started back december 08 when i felt learning how to spin a pen like drumsticks. I looked that up on yahoo awnsers and found pentrix.com. At pentrix.com i learned the thumbaround whitch i was stuck with for forever cause i was using a bic round stic grip which are extremely light. So after i spent forever learning the thumbaround i learned most of the other fundementals. Then i found upsb and i started to get into advanced tricks. thats pretty much all..... for now.

i started off in july 08 when i learned a TA. then i didn't have anything to do with penspinning throughout the summer, and when school got back in i continued with the TA through september. only in october 08 did i really start to pick up penspinning. i happened to watch a few more vids on youtube and actually felt like giving it a shot-so i did. let's see october, november, december, january, february yeah 5 months 21 days and so far im doing the best i can. currently i can't find anymore tricks to learn, so i just copy combos (mostly Shadowserpant's but that would be more of a "try" than a "do"). i havent battled anyone as i only penspin for the fun of it, im not much of a competitive spinner. nobody's yet t challenge me and i'm totally fine with that; it gives me more free time to practice and invent new ways for myself to use certain tricks in combos ( like palm down fingerpasses and instead of TF charge reverse before a FL TA rev i'll to a normal TF charge and release into a shadow to 1-2). Actually, i lied. i AM working on one trick (hybrid if you want to get technical) the dragon around, could be useful iunno but might as well learn it so nobody has something i dont (other than good opposite hand spinning )
Yeah thats about it, i'll throw a few vids into the show off your combos thread here in the team forum soon for you guys to watch and hopefully critisize as i am always pestering myself about improving. -

I also watched Japan 1st and thought that was crazy. A few weeks later i thought that was nothing. I first started with a TA. Then to fingerpass, sonic. i didn't learn charge for a long time, with the exception of a single charge. Then all I did was freestyle. My best friend told me to stop it, then soon i was planning more. Although still freestyling I wasn't doing the same thing as i was before. I was doing real tricks link by link. And thus came to this point, the year 2009.

Actually, ilikepieguy3 is my best friend... and i started penspinning around... 2nd grade. I did charges, thumbarounds, and reverse thumbaround. once i saw japan 1st, i got more interested. before that, my mom's friend and my friend in high school taught me those tricks. i got really addicted when ilikepieguy3 gave me a video of how to do a sonic. i learn how to do it, and then i was really addicted in 7th grade, mid December. i started do to combos and solo videos. in march, i started to do a little freestyle. I want to learn how to do a multiple twisted sonic bust now, and i wish someone would make a tutorial for that trick. anyways, cya guys.

Someone did have a tutorial, and not the same ******* twisted sonic bust > bak rev. No, I'm talking real multiple busts. (back to subject). Nowadays i watch the 08 tournament cuz its really cool. Some of the people have inproved greatly. And i now found new spinners that i have never heard of (eg saizen, pesp). -

Started in 2007; I sucked. Horribly. Never bothered to learn anything other than Thumbaround / Charge.
It was only until late 2008 that I began taking it seriously and actually learning more tricks etc.
Pens interested me, though. It gave me a chance to make a visual, sensory model with my creativity; instead of just a virtual piece of digital art. -

This is exactly like me, except with TA and Sonic xD
