Yeah, I was just wondering. What do you guys think about Rotation Changes? Like, I was thinking about including the mini combo
Pinkybak -> pinkybak rev
or neobak 23-34 - > pinkybak rev
into a combo...and I think it looks cool, with the pause and everything. What do you guys think? Do some look better than others? What are your favorites? -

Is this where changing hand position have a big role?
a simple Inverse Sonic 23-12 -> Rev. Twisted Sonic 12-23 has a good feeling when i do it -

twisted sonic rev 23-34 > inv twisted sonic 34-23
inv twisted sonic rev 12-23 > twisted sonic 23-12
twisted sonic 23-12 > inv twisted sonic rev 12-23
ta harmonic xD
ringaround harmonic
ta ext. T1-12 > shadow rev 12- some random slot
neo sonic 23-TF > FL TA > T1 or T2 or T3 charge
neo sonic 23-TF > fl ta ext. TF-12
counters are nice, but i can't really do them -

i remember you doing alot of direction changing combo's about a year and a half ago if i remember correctly, i think it looks nice for some styles of spinning only. I cant tell you with kind they are since im not even sure how they are classified anymore, semi slow style's i guess.

something related to Charge Reverse 34 > (palmdown) Charge 34
NeoSonic 12-T1 > NeoSonic Reverse T1-12 or NeoSonic 12-T1 > NeoSonic Reverse T2-23 (this one feels pretty nice)
or like i.s.a.e said, something like ThumbAround Extended > Shadow Reverse T1-XX looks pretty nice
I also like PassAround 23-12 > Pass 12-23.
I'm also trying out Charge Reverse TF > Tipped Charge TF (horizontal motion - whatever you call it) > FL Shadow TF-12 > Shadow Reverse 12-34 > PinkyBak Reverse. It's really fun, lots of directional changes xD -

Direction changes look great, especially when done while going from palm up to palm down or vice-versa. The important part is doing it smoothly.

mind you, it does start to look choppy when you have too many directional changes

Not if you do it well. You should see pyralux's third solo video. Pyralux is the master of direction changes.
check out 2:20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_EfahBMFPc it's just amazing... -

Shut up...............
I like doing like top spins for a long time until the spin slows or stops, then do a baktap. -

I think that direction changing is the most beautiful thing in penspinning. -

i used tipped sonic often
sometimes TF charge rev - Fl TA rev -> TF charge normal - FL TA (kinda like makin does) -

I think the most neglected ones are the counter taps or have a tap of some sort.
Examples:
Neo-backaround T1-12 > Backtap 12 > FL TA
TA 1.5 > Reverse half-tap > FL TA
Tap-fall(as I call it): Neo-backaround T1-12 > Backtap 12 > Neo-backaround T1-23 > Backtap 23-T1 > Neo-backaround T1-23 > Backtap 34-T1 -

That's because no one uses taps in general. And I wouldn't call that a counter tap, it's just a tap.
@isuk
I agree, counters rock. I don't see anyone use it really though. My favorite counters are:
TA ~ Counter TA Rev ~ Counter TA or a Bak Rev ~ Counter Bak ~ Counter Bak Rev. I have trouble doing the latter though. I believe it's a Bak Rev...not too sure what the opposite of a Backaround (Weis) is. -

ah you fools, taps are the bomb

These is the BEST direction change (IMO):

and Inv Shadow > Palm Tap > FL TA -

toro totally owns at these man

I think this might belong in the general discussion section, but it's not for me to judge.
Directional changes are kind of like balisongs, they can cut you and make you cry, but if used well, they can be beautiful. Even very simple directional changes really catch my attention if done well. -

i use a lot of
palm down normal <--> palm side rev
and
palm down rev <--> palm side normal
because i can do them smothly and it doesnt look like uve just gone and changed direction... like a sonic harmonic or somthing... it looks smooth
those can be done with just about anything
but going from palm down rev > palm side rev without obviously changing direction is harder... palm side rev > palm down rev is even worse
they require tricks to be done... in like a half way position?
like neobak 12-23 > warped sonic rev 23-12 (palm diagonal) > tw sonic rev 12-23 (palm side) > MA 23-23
or inv sonic 12-23 (PD) ~> pass 13-34 (PD) > pass 34-23 (diagonal) > sonic 23-12 (diagonal-palm side) > pass 12-t1 (palm side) > fl ta rev
ill post vids once i get my external working, hope ya'll understand -

I prefer simple changes, like just in the middle of a Twisted Sonic.
Inv Sonic Rev 12-23 ~Â Inv Twisted Sonic Rev 13-34 -> Sonic 34-23 ~Â Twisted Sonic 24-12 -

how about:
Twisted sonic bust ~> IndexBak
This one is one of my favorites -

It might be interesting if someone made a rather long combo in which very trick was a different direction to the last...
