Whenever I do a sonic harmonic, at the sonic fall the pen always reaches to the bottom of my pinky instead of the top making it impossible to do a sonic rise. Any suggestions?

    You mean Sonic Rise/Fall Harmonic?

    I'd just... practice...

I moved my wrist a lot at first when I was learning the reverses, it helped quite a bit. Like with everything, just keep practicing and you'll eventually get it. smile.gif

Sonic fall is all to do with gravity. When you complete the sonic rise, you should get enough momentum to push the pen back. However, when you come to this step, make sure you don't overpush; just bend your fingers and let gravity do its work.

It happens for beginners. It's when your pinky and ring finger isn't trained enough to catch the spin.
I had the same problem. Only way to fix for me was to practice

I don't really know of good tip, but how about trying to tighten up the fingers to make minimal range of the fingers moving. I think it would work. Most members widen up the fingers and make sonic reverse look smooth and stuff, but that is because they have good control of the fingers. For now, when you are still learning sonic reverse, forget about smoothness and focus on getting it right.

Also, using thick pens works too. Try Dr.Grips and thick pens like that.

In my opinion, your problem comes from the fact that 1) you used too much force to do Sonic Rev 23-34 or 2) you are not used to open your 34 slots yet. There can be other reasons but yea... just practise. I think that's practically what everyone wanna say. Lol.

@HamSpinz: for sonic fall you should aim to not use gravity. Otherwise it will be almost impossible to do it palm down.

Do many people use sonic falls(palmdon) as part of their combos? I don't really find it nice palmdown as compared to palm sideways.

not many people do it. Not even me, but that is because they don't need to because they already mastered it, and there are harder tricks that they could do.

I dont get how sonic fall rise harmonic is considered as a fundamental I mean it isnt needed in tricks and not many people use it.

Then what is it? I think it's fundamental. It's nothing advanced really.

(no offense for the people who just started PSing)

but when you learn the sonic rise/fall it really helps with the flow of your penspinning. its your first step into building your combos and its like training wheels for penspinning. it is also fundamental in that it is one of the first tricks people learn.

    Agreed.

Sonic Rise/Fall Harmonic is very good for beginners to work on connecting tricks. When you first do Sonic Rise (or fall), your spin stops each time you do sonic. Then after you practice for a while, your Sonic rise (or fall) become smooth.

When something like that happpens to me, I just practice. Even if you do it the wrong way, just practice while trying to do it the right way. Eventually you'll get it. happy.gif
