I have recieved a bunch of submisssion, from regular modders and a few wild cards too!
    Just to remind you all:

Public Voting will be based on the MODDER, Not the single mods, because for the Pen Modding World Tournament we want to have the best All-around modders in the running, as any type of theme/pen mod restriction could be put in place.
Please Keep this in mind while voting.

As well, you must make sure that you vote for the modder that you feel is best every week, because the quality of mods that person submits could be based on their position within the standings after every week, so the votes will mean a lot to each person's desicisions concerning the following Round.

I will be posting the Modders in order of time recieved, please look through all of the modders before voting.

All of these are posted EXACTLY as they were recieved via email. I have not touched them up or organized anything.

In the event of a Tie, the first applicant who had submitted will win the tiebreaker.

PLEASE VOTE FOR YOUR TOP 3 PICKS ONLY!!

    Thanks

    Personal Mod:

    G3-Matic Mod

    http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a21/Stevieboy7/ETC/w18.jpg

This mod spins great and is very simple! It ingeniously incorporates a ColorTwin small cap and a Gripatic tip and grip in ways never thought of before. I especially like this mod because of this simplicity, but also for the looks of it! Nothing flashy with thousands of tips for weight, but a simple single sided G3 mod.

*this mod is currently unreleased, but i have tutorial pictures ready if anybody wants to know how to make it!

    Materials:
1x G3 body, cap, tip, grip, backcap and inktube
    1x Gripmatic grip and tip
    1x ColorTwin small cap
1x Signo tip and optionally grip
    1x G2 grip
    2x Profile grips

    Stats:
    Length 19.8cm
Weight Impact MX < G3-Matic Mod
    Cost around $15 USD

    ~

    Retractable Mod:

    G2-CTE Retractable Vortex

    http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a21/Stevieboy7/ETC/ONE.jpg

Here is a mod that was originally made as a capped mod by me that I was able to take the pieces already present and create it into a retractable mod! Just click the tip down to reveal the ink out of the other tip! No rattling or faulty mechanisms here! This mod truly shows innovative techology by keeping the original look of the original mod but allowing it to be retractable.

    Materials:
2x G2 grips, small body, large body, two small clickers, one large clicker and spring
    1x Miffy body
    2x Signo tips and grips

    Stats:
    Length 21cm
Weight Dr. KT = G2-CTE Retractable Vortex
    Cost around $12 USD

    Replica Mod:

    f1r3fly G3 Mod

Picture Link was Broken. Will Post Picture when modder supplies it

This is a very fun mod to make and it looks extremely cool!!! I took my time when cutting my sailors to make sure it had the best look possible! It was a challenge to make, yet i had fun making it! I enjoyed making this mod look as sexy as possible.

    Materials:
1x G3 body, cap, tip and inktube
    1x Gripmatic tip
    1x HGG grip and tip
    1x Dr. Grip grip
    2x Sailor grips

For my 3rd and final mod, which is the mechanism mod I opted to go with my Retractable X. It's the only pen in which I can say is worth being retractable. Simple and elegant without offsetting balance.
The only difference is figured a way of silencing the click mechanism so its not distracting in class when the clicker goes back up.

    Dr. Trainer

    http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk173/k...s/DrTrainer.jpg

    Stats:
    - length: 19.8cm
    - weight: 18.3g
    - COG = COP

Description: While this may look like a simple mix of a Dr. KT with a Buster Cyl, It has certain features that make it unique.

    1. Writable - although both the Buster Cyl and Dr. KT can be made writable, they usually are not because adding weight at the center of the pen does not improve momentum. To solve this, I added short ink tubes towards the ends, leaving the center empty and light.

    2. Less grip, more momentum - One of the cool properties of the Dr. KT is that you can create a variety of color combinations via the grip and cap. While this is cool aesthetically, you can achieve more momentum by keeping all the weight towards the end of the pen. the Dr. Trainer increases momentum by using more weight at the ends, and removing extra grips that are closer to the middle of the pen. A few sailor rings still remain to keep the color scheme flexible.

    3. Adjustable Anti-Slip Grip - Two profile grips are placed on the body to help in a number of ways.

Cont. 1.5s trainer - If you keep it near the cap, the position is optimized to help you learn Cont. 1.5s combos. Suck as Bak 1.5s, or Midbak 1.5s. In these combos the pen needs to slide on your hand and get repositioned before repeating the trick. The grip rings prevent the pen from sliding too much and flying off your hand.

Charge trainer - One of the difficulties in learning the Charge is preventing the pen from shifting its position and sliding off when doing multiple repetitions. By positioning the rings closer to the center, you can make learning the Charge easier. And while this may sound like useful only to beginners, it will certainly be useful when trying to do multiple Charges on the same hand.

Top Spin trainer - Based on the middle grip concept of the Grip Aviaire, you can also move the rings to the center to give you an extra edge while learning tricks like ThumbSpin, PalmSpin, etc. The grip in the center will give you a nice spinning area to prolong your spins.

Basically, you can move these rings anywhere you want depending on what trick you are learning. You can also remove them completely (and keep them in the caps) to get a more traditional mod if the rings are getting in the way.

    4. Smooth trainer rings - Using wider Dr. Pilot (American version) metal rings, the rings will rattle and product noise when spinning....UNLESS you keep your pen in a constant state of smooth spinning. This is because if the pen is spinning constantly, and there are change in directions, the metal rings will be forced against the grip and it will not rattle. When you hear a rattle, you know your linkage was not as smooth as it could be, even if your eyes can't catch it. So time to improve your smoothness.

Pros: multi-purpose mod (can be used to learn many tricks/combos). Shorter than a Buster Cyl (one of its main complaints), more momentum than a KT. Flexible in terms of color combination and looks.

Cons: a bit expensive to make (require parts from multiple countries), not the most appealing look, have limited ink supply.

    Materials/pens used:

    - 2 KT/CT/MM (1 body, 2 caps)
    - 2 Zebra Airfits (tips, grips, ink tubes)
    - 2 Sailor or Sailor subs (grips)
    - 2 American Dr. Grip (metal rings)
    - 1 or 2 anyball/profile (grips) note: can get by with only 1, but I prefer getting the big edge section of the grip, so I use two
    - tape
    - electrical tape (for marking COG)

    Tools used:
    - scissors or pen knife or blade
    - rubbing alcohol
    - drill

    Clear F1r3Fly G3 mod

    http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk173/k...y_g3_clear2.jpg

    Stats:
    - length: 20cm
    - weight: 20g
    - COG = COP

    Description:

This was based on the well-known F1r3Fly mod. While everyone agrees that FF mods are pretty sweet in general, I wanted to improve on it by maximizing it's core feature: the fact that most of the pen is see through and customizable with an insert.

So, what better way to utilize that property other than making it a clear mod, while still maintaining the ability to use custom inserts. The final result called for using an insert printed on transparency paper.

Pros: great appeal, specially if seen under light or interesting backgrounds. Slightly shorter than a normal F1r3Fly and less prone to breakage.

Cons: an ugly or dark background can make the mod look bad. Less momentum due to length. Less spinning area.

    Materials/Pens used:
    - 1 Pilot G3 (body, cap, back cap, grip)
    - 1 Pilot G2 (body)
    - 1 Japanese Dr. Grip (grip)
    - 1 Sailor grip (gray)
    - 1 Beifa grip (black)
    - 1 HGG (tip)
    - 1 airblanc (grip)
    - 1 Faber Castell Grip Matic
    - hot glue
    - tape
    - insert printed on transparency paper

    Tools Used:
    - scissors (for grip cutting)
    - hot glue gun
    - file (for sanding)
    - wire cutter (for removing clip and cutting body)

    Twisted MX

    http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk173/k...ted_mx_blue.jpg

    Stats:
    - length: 20.2cm
    - weight: 16.5g
    - COG = 0.1cm front-heavy

    Description:
A simple retractable one sided mod that uses a twisting mechanism instead of the clicking to make the ink tube come out. The advantage is that a twisting mechanism is a lot more stable than most retractable mechanisms. Two grips on each side add a good momentum, while keeping the mod fairly light.

Pros: stable mechanism, unique look, not too hard to make

Cons: uses outsert, wavy grips may not suit all tastes

    Materials/Pens used:

    - 1 Crayola Twistable (body and twistable mech)
    - 1 Pentel Tranxition (grip)
    - 1 Pilot G-3 (metal tip, cap)
    - 1 HGG (metal tip, grip)
    - 2 Pentel Energel/Energize (grips)
    - 1 Pentel RSVP (ink tube)
    - spring from any retractable pen
    - outsert

    Tools:
    - tape
    - wire cutter
    - scissors or pen knife

There's no tutorial for the Dr. Trainer, but it's not that difficult to figure it out. It's basically a hybrid of Dr. KT and Buster Cyl (more momentum than a KT, but same length and body as the KT)...with added "training" features.

The movable grip and loose metal ring can be applied to almost any mod though. I will think about whether a tutorial is necessary after I've tested it enough and feel it's ready.
