This took me a bizarrely long time to finally make... I finally sat down and shot it, after practicing around with this for God knows how long, and this was the best take out of a good 10 minutes.

    It's 10 seconds long. EPIC

The middle part was supposed to be an inverse sonic rise -> warped sonic fall -> sonic rise with palm twist, but it just ends up looking UGLY. It's also bizarrely hard for me to pull off.

    Hmm....not bad. smile.gif

Took me a lot longer than it did for you, for me to get to that level. wink.gif

    1) Diversity of tricks. You've mastered a basic conic trick-- the sonic, and its inverse-- inverse sonic. thumb.gif However, go ahead and learn Demon's sonic or a conic hybrid like Sonic clip. wink.gif Also, go ahead and learn IndexAround or MiddleAround. smile.gif It'll make your combo look even better.

    2) Linkages. Your transitions between tricks looked a bit jerky. To improve this, just practice linking two or three tricks at a time (ex. TA Rev > Sonic Rev > Sonic Normal). Once you perfect your "mini-combos", go ahead and try to make another combo. It'll look much smoother. wink.gif

    Hope this helps! happy.gif

P.S. Sorry if some stuff is unclear....it's just like 1 AM and I'm really tired.

Ah, appreciate the suggestions. I can do a demon's sonic, and I can do a bit more than is seen in the combo. I can't yet do a sonic clip for some reason -- I think I need someone IRL to help.

Also, did it seem like a prevalence of sonics? Because it's more shadows than that I think (plus busts), and the end section is a rising set of arounds. Good to know it looks like conics.

Heh, and it took me FOREVER to get here, so don't worry. I just started getting active in the community recently. I've been spinning since... forever. Couple years now. So pretty slow tongue.gif

For sonic clip, what I like to do is finger stretching. smile.gif

Like if you were trying a Sonic Clip 34-23:

    1) Bend your ring finger down; hold it in place with your thumb.

    2) Use your left hand to bend your pinky and middle finger back as far as you can.

    3) Now try to make them touch.

    4) Once you've succeeded, do a TIPPED charge with your middle and pinky.

    5) Gradually, you will be able to wean off using your left hand to assist.

    6) Now try doing a charge (Use the EXACT same movements as Charge Normal)

Remember that this won't come in a day or two. Two weeks tops, if you do it every day though. wink.gif But by the fifth day, you'll see a noticeable difference in your finger dexterity. That's what it all comes down to. smile.gif

I started in 7th grade and I didn't really improve until 6 months ago. It just sort of happened all of a sudden when I found some cool mini-combos online. Pen spinning really has become a lot easier for me as of late and everything seems smoother. When I first started comboing, one vid that helped me was this one -> simple beginner's mini-combos
I don't know if it'll have the same effect on you, but if you take them one at a time and don't rush, I think you might like them?
