"Poi is a form of dance, where weights on the ends of tethers are swung through rhythmical patterns. "

well, i first got into glowstringing a few months ago, but i got really tired of it. So i searched around some more and found Poi spinning, which is similar. i find it more fun -

That's pretty cool. That would be nice to be able to do something like that.

Dang... You would be able to give a major ass whoopin with that thing. And wouldn't the supplies be kinda expensive/hard to get? Cause it should be able last a while on fire and that it should be able to be reusable.

Fire poi isn't used all the time. Mostly just for show/entertainment; not for practice.

You would most likely use this kind of poi to practice. There are lots of other types of poi and that's just one of them.
oh shit. poi spinning in the park lol. -

its about as expensive as pen spinning really. i got led lightsticks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjw1ctqyVYo and they cost me about 5 bucks to make...2 bucks if you dont count the glowsticks cuz they were dead ones. my sock poi were only a buck and theyre the best sock poi i have by far... i just put golf balls wrapped in smaller socks that i found at the local golf course haha. its as expensive as you want it to be really.
i never tried flag poi but it looks interesting....btw, nick woolsey is my hero!!! hes the reason ive learned so many tricks hehe -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raUlfW_jgw0...re=channel_page new vid up!
man i dunno why camtasia always puts huge borders on my vids....sometimes it does it sometimes it doesnt :/
but genxglow is an EDC community. theres forums for poi, glowstringing, freehand, djs, music sharing, kandi, etc.... its pretty awesome actually i like it more than gs.c
but for your ball bearing swivels, id suggest using some 3-in-1 or eve wd40....if you can get it, use silicone spray. works the best on practically everything (especially rubiks cubes ) -

It seems to be a nice thing but requires alot of space to practice.
