sigh...i just dont liek the thai style that much.

Imo, at the very least from the Quarter finals stage, it should be best out of 3.
I know I know it's a lot of combos, takes a lot of ideas, makes each combo slightly less good etc.
But still I think it out weighs the fact that good spinners can lose to lesser spinners because they didn't plan as well, or were sick or just had slightly bad luck and their epic combo was slightly less epic then their competitor's, with no chance to make get it right.
its not gonna happen ... takes 3 weeks for 1 video.... 9 weeks for each round, that's too much
from quarter to finals, that'd be 3*3*3 = 27 weeks = 6 months = whole tournament already
you would need a quick and easy way to go from 64 (or possibly more next time) to 16...
also spinners would run out of material so quickly if you ask them 3 combos per round... they're not gonna like that

I'm ok with Minwoo winning I guess, it was a really close battle, couldn't have chose someone over the other here..
I don't like Answer winning, but it was predictable unfortunately =\

And I agree Frip. It'd be nice if the thai spinners finally duked it out, and the winner battles minwoo in the finals (yes, I'm indirectly saying that Answer would lose against Minwoo0. As much as I like supa, I think peem can take him. -

Well, I'm quite disapointed with the results.
I wanted Minwoo to win, Eriror, Answer, Taeyrong.
So 2/4 of the spinners I was rooting for won. I just don't like the Thai's style when they spin, I guess I'm one of the few sadly. Now I'm just praying it isn't peem that wins, I wouldn't mind seeing Minwoo vs Answer in the finals and either one wins or Minwoo vs Peem and minwoo wins ^^ -

iirc i read somewhere you can't compare scores between different battles or rounds, only between spinners in the same match.

First of all, I'd like to congratulate all the winners on getting to the semifinals, you all did a great job. And congrats to the losers as well for actually getting this far in the World Tournament, that's a great feat by itself.
I'm sure not everyone will agree with these results, and there will always be some kind of preference, even among the judges, but that's natural, it can't be prevented. We will have to accept it.
I'm very honoured to have had all these people in the different communities supporting me during the World Tournament 2009, thank you so much for that. Even though I didn't win, seeing that so many people actually expected and hoped for me to win is very touching. I'm very glad that people still like my spinning after all those years, seeing as I started appearing in videos since December 2005 [!]. It has been very, very interesting to see how penspinning has evolved in these years, watching the collabs in 2006, 2007, 2008... Comparing the videos from the WT07 and the WT09. Penspinning is changing constantly, and it's too bad that I wasn't in the right phase myself to get through to the semifinals.
However, I'm proud that I've reached this far. Becoming #2 in 2007, and reaching the quarter finals in 2009... I'm very glad. If it keeps on going like this, I'll reach round 3 in 2011. But we can only dream.
One thing that's sure is that I'll keep on practising, trying to improve my spinning more and more. I just hope 2-handed spinning will be appreciated more and more in the following years.
So.. I guess I said what I wanted to say. Thank you, everyone, for supporting me and making me do my best [well, not really, but still.
]. Especially Zombo, Fratleym and Thewave were very helpful, thank you a lot. Fratleym, I'll be battling you soon, be prepared.

I'm not a big fan of thai style either... uses way too many cont. tricks for my liking... show's mastery and everything, but a bit down on the creative side. -

No one's done cont hai tuas before. Doesn't that count as creativity? I believe some of peem's spread linkings are also quite unique.
And a lot psers in the WT aren't exactly creative. Why bag on just the thai? -

mm i just felt that eri deserved the win after just showing us so much in the past 2 years
. he has been pushing himself very hard. im not saying supa hasnt, i cannot judge it but it is my opinion that eriror is consistently amazing. -
