There seems to be some confusion with the Voting. It IS multiple choice, you can pick 3 choices. Please pick the 3 you would like to advance

PLEASE VOTE FOR YOUR TOP 3 PICKS ONLY!!

I have recieved a bunch of submisssion, from regular modders and a few wild cards too!
    Just to remind you all:

Public Voting will be based on the MODDER, Not the single mods, because for the Pen Modding World Tournament we want to have the best All-around modders in the running, as any type of theme/pen mod restriction could be put in place.
Please Keep this in mind while voting.

As well, you must make sure that you vote for the modder that you feel is best every week, because the quality of mods that person submits could be based on their position within the standings after every week, so the votes will mean a lot to each person's desicisions concerning the following Round.

I will be posting the Modders in order of time recieved, please look through all of the modders before voting.

All of these are posted EXACTLY as they were recieved via email. I have not touched them up or organized anything.

In the event of a Tie, the first applicant who had submitted will win the tiebreaker.

PLEASE VOTE FOR YOUR TOP 3 PICKS ONLY!!

Depending how the results go for this round, there MAY or may not be another round, if there is a clear cut top 3, there will be no next round.

    Thanks

    1. Personal Mod: Flexible Key3 Mod
This mod is exactly like Key3's personal mod, except that it has the soft plastic comssa barrel that everyone loves. A little difficult to make, but very soundproof when dropped. Some filing is required.
    Stats:
    About 14g
    Length: About 20cm
Materials: 1 RSVP backcap, 1 sailor gel tip, 2 HGG tips, 1 signo DX tip and grip, I comssa barrel, 1 Hyper Jell cap and grip.
Tools Used: Sandpaper, exacto, tape, nothing out of the ordinary.
    Approximate Price: About $16

    http://s261.photobucket.com/albums/ii73/Pr...Key3Modcopy.jpg

    2. Namae Mod
This ludicrously pimped out namae mod is a stapel of the japanese mod repetoire. It has great momentum and is relatively cheap. Only downside is that is is kinda short for a lot of people.
    Stats:
Weight: MX^2 < Namae Mod < Impact Mx
    Length: About 18.8cm
Materials: 2 Signo's, 2 Namaes, 1 airfit grip, sailor gel grips, anyball grips
Tools Used: Exacto knife, electrical tape
    Approximate Price: About $15

    http://s261.photobucket.com/albums/ii73/Pr...amaeModcopy.jpg

    3. Functional Mod: Monami-r MX
This is a retractable version of the rsvp mx. I used the tutorial created by K4S to make this. It has a very stable system for writing, and work really well, but it is the hardest retractable mod with a tutorial that I've seen to date. I had to practice cutting RSVP barrels for about 10 minutes, and my cut didn't come at as well as I would've liked.
    Stats:
Weight: Signo Tipped MX < This Mod < Dami Mod
    Length: About 18.5 Cm
Materials: 1 Monami Mech. (I used a sub I had found) signo tip, HGG, RSVP.
Tools Used: Dremel, Sanding paper/files, Exacto knife, Tape, lots of patience.
    Approximate Price: like $7-$10

    Venom BK (personal mod)

    http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk173/k...nomBK_proto.jpg

This a pen case I made to hold my pens. I wanted something sturdy, stylish, and a bit "over the top" haha.

Pros: unique look, recycles beverage bottles, very sturdy (more sturdy than regular pen cases), holds all pens in place without colliding (prevents them from scratching each other).

Cons: somewhat a pain to make if you don't have the right tools. Doesn't save you much money over buying a normal case.

    weight: ~120g
    length: 33.5cm
cog: n/a (this is not a spinning mod, and the cog varies depending on what you're carrying)
    type: pen case
    cost: $8

    Materials/parts used:
    - 2 Venom Energy bottles
    - 1 Honest Tea or Honest Ade bottle
    - colored rubberband (optional)
    - foam (I used 1 cm sheets, but I think 0.5 cm might work better. The harder the consistency the better)

    Tools Used:
    - dremel (for cutting)
    - file (for sanding)
    - pen knife
    - tape

Clear F1r3Fly G3 mod (replica mod)

    http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk173/k...y_g3_clear2.jpg

    Stats:
    - length: 20cm
    - weight: 20g
    - COG = COP

    Description:

This was based on the well-known F1r3Fly mod. While everyone agrees that FF mods are pretty sweet in general, I wanted to improve on it by maximizing it's core feature: the fact that most of the pen is see through and customizable with an insert.

So, what better way to utilize that property other than making it a clear mod, while still maintaining the ability to use custom inserts. The final result called for using an insert printed on transparency paper.

Pros: great appeal, specially if seen under light or interesting backgrounds. Slightly shorter than a normal F1r3Fly and less prone to breakage.

Cons: an ugly or dark background can make the mod look bad. Less momentum due to length. Less spinning area.

    Materials/Pens used:
    - 1 Pilot G3 (body, cap, back cap, grip)
    - 1 Pilot G2 (body)
    - 1 Japanese Dr. Grip (grip)
    - 1 Sailor grip (gray)
    - 1 Beifa grip (black)
    - 1 HGG (tip)
    - 1 airblanc (grip)
    - 1 Faber Castell Grip Matic
    - hot glue
    - tape
    - insert printed on transparency paper

    Tools Used:
    - scissors (for grip cutting)
    - hot glue gun
    - file (for sanding)
    - wire cutter (for removing clip and cutting body)

    The Challenger (mechanism mod)

    http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk173/k...enger_v1_bw.jpg

While pens like the Dr. KT or Buster Cyl (and even my Dr. Trainer) are great for spinning, they only help a spinner learn harder tricks. Most pens (even the RSVP MX or Bonkura's Ballsign mod) do not help the spinner become more proficient at spinning any pen given to them.

So, with that in mind, I decided to make a pen that would be so hard to spin....such that if you succeed, you'll be better at spinning any pen. Months later, The Challenger was born.

Using an ergonomic mechanical pencil as the main body, this mod has hardly any consistent spinning area. Every time you catch a trick, your fingers are likely to be holding the pen in a different way.

Weight: 26.4g (holy shit, heavier than a Saizen o_O)
    length: ~20.6cm
COG: 9.7cm from front (0.6cm front heavy)
    Type: Single sided mechanical pencil
    Cost: ~$25-$30

Pros: imo, it looks very good due to its unique shape and sharp looks. It's also an almost fully functional mechanical pencil (the only thing I couldn't fit there was the back eraser =( ). It has plenty of momentum due to weight and length.

Cons? Or Pros?: It has no spinning area (at least not a plain one). It has very inconsistent spin because you can't really rely on how the pen will react against your hand. All of this, of course, is intentional.

Cons: Currently the connection of the bodies is held by a metal tube that's tightened by clear tape. Front tip is held only by a double grip (although it seems to suffice). Very expensive to make. Hard to make (requires drilling and cutting through thick plastic).

    Materials/parts used:
    - 2 Zebra Nu Spiral mechanical pencils (almost everything)
    - 1 Papermate Profile (grip)
    - 1 Pentel RSVP (grip, back cap)
    - 1 Zebra Telescopic (tip)
    - 1 HGG (back cap)
    - tape and eletrical tape
    - sticky tak

    Tools Used:
    - drill
    - dremel (for cutting lots of plastic)
    - file (for sanding)
    - scissors
    - pen knife

    Personal Mod:

    G3-Matic Mod

    http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a21/Stevieboy7/ETC/w18.jpg

This mod spins great and is very simple! It ingeniously incorporates a ColorTwin small cap and a Gripatic tip and grip in ways never thought of before. I especially like this mod because of this simplicity, but also for the looks of it! Nothing flashy with thousands of tips for weight, but a simple single sided G3 mod.

*this mod is currently unreleased, but i have tutorial pictures ready if anybody wants to know how to make it!

    Materials:
1x G3 body, cap, tip, grip, backcap and inktube
    1x Gripmatic grip and tip
    1x ColorTwin small cap
1x Signo tip and optionally grip
    1x G2 grip
    2x Profile grips

    Retractable Mod:

    G2-CTE Retractable Vortex

    http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a21/Stevieboy7/ETC/ONE.jpg

Here is a mod that was originally made as a capped mod by me that I was able to take the pieces already present and create it into a retractable mod! Just click the tip down to reveal the ink out of the other tip! No rattling or faulty mechanisms here! This mod truly shows innovative techology by keeping the original look of the original mod but allowing it to be retractable.

    Materials:
2x G2 grips, small body, large body, two small clickers, one large clicker and spring
    1x Miffy body
    2x Signo tips and grips

    Stats:
    Length 21cm
Weight Dr. KT = G2-CTE Retractable Vortex
    Cost around $12 USD

    Replica Mod:

    f1r3fly G3 Mod

Picture Link was Broken. Will Post Picture when modder supplies it

This is a very fun mod to make and it looks extremely cool!!! I took my time when cutting my sailors to make sure it had the best look possible! It was a challenge to make, yet i had fun making it! I enjoyed making this mod look as sexy as possible.

    Materials:
1x G3 body, cap, tip and inktube
    1x Gripmatic tip
    1x HGG grip and tip
    1x Dr. Grip grip

Credits to iVodka for the insert!

    ----------------------
For my Secondary mod I Know I spelled "F1R3FLY" wrong, I prefer the i vs. the 1. It just fit much much better imo. I swapped out the Gripmatic tips with signo, the balance was much better and I was able to make this mod far more sturdy doing so. The insert was one I made personally.

For my 3rd and final mod, which is the mechanism mod I opted to go with my Retractable X. It's the only pen in which I can say is worth being retractable. Simple and elegant without offsetting balance.
The only difference is figured a way of silencing the click mechanism so its not distracting in class when the clicker goes back up.

Err...I don't think there was a r ule against submitting a pen case :/ I still modded it myself, and you CAN spin it if you want xD

As for the Challenger, read the description? My goal was indded to make it difficult for spinning. Hence, the Challenge. If you can spin something so random, when you switch back to a normal mod, it'll be a lot easier. It's a mod to build your skills, not to make hard tricks easier.

@Escapist1: I see a lot of improvement. I didn't even think they were your mods until I saw the name xD Keep it up ^^

    btw i would have voted

kam - cause he atleast submits one new pen
    Escapist1 - nice namae

we already know that these 3 will be the top so why keep having rounds?

Their innovation and creativity always make me smile. smile.gif
I especially like the most recent Dr Trainer and Challenger.
They seem to focus on easier practicing for the spinner to master tricks faster and improve overall spinning.

And will there be a tutorial for those mods, by any chance? tongue.gif

As has been repeated over the 3 Prelim. Tournament rounds; iMatt, TEK, and Kam are the Top 3.

As i have recieved no new submissions, and the results have been fairly consistent, i feel it okay to drop the last round, as i see no new results coming from it.

And on that notes, UPSB has its 3 Contestants for the 1st Official Pen Modding World Tournament: TEK, Kam, and iMatt. Good Job!

Congratulations to all contestants, and i look forward to see you all in the prelim's for the next PMWT.
    Thankyou!

    im sorry guys.
but something major has recently happened in my life and i just don't feel like pen modding or any other good stuff anymore for a while.
so im not going to be able to participate in the pmwt. i hope you guys the best of luck.
maybe ill come back when i feel better but, for now, i need to do some other stuff.

i will still be around to hold one more major project, but it is still in process.
    till then.

Hope all turns out. Kind of sad, looking forward to some primo competition. But, again,
