For when you only want to ask a simple question that does not already have a thread.

    Examples:
Q: When is [insert foreign collab name] going to be released?
    A: [insert date of release]

Q: Is [insert pen name] good for spinning?
A: If it works for you, then yes.

weiss back around 12, korean back around 12(a.k.a. korean bak)

do i suck, average, or other terms you might want to use?

I've been spinning more than a year and i know half the tricks you do.

You cant really define how "good" a penspinner is like that, I'd say you were on the right track for the amount of time you've been spinning, but you need a video to compare your actual skill.

no you don't suck at all, everyone has its own progression rate.

don't see PS like a race to be the best, progress at your own rate and focus on tricks that appeals you at first, then once you get the tricks down focus on linking them, the inspiration is everywhere. there is no " i spin for 2 month i can only do that so i suck" : it depends on plenty of things, just enjoy ps, enjoy what you like to do, thats what its all about

Wats the difference between a combo and hybrid??
    n00b question..huh??

A combo consists of 2 or more complete tricks strung together. A hybrid combo contains one or more incomplete tricks and may also include a complete trick. It does not matter where the trick(s) is cut off and combined.

A hybrid combo can have multiple pushes.

    Some examples:
2 tricks, 1 push, first has no catch, second has no push...
    Shadow 23-23 [p][s 0.5] ~ Passaround 23-12 [s 0.5][c]

2 tricks, 2 pushes, first trick has no catch...
    Shadow 23-12 [p][s 0.5] ~ Fingerless Middlearound 23-23

As long as there is an incomplete trick connected to something else, the two will make a hybrid combo instead of a complete combo.

    Thanks UEDan :D

Hideaki Kondoh is researching about Pen Spinning.

He thinks some Japanese were spinning a pen, when pencils spread in Japan from The Taisho Era (about after 1912).

He announced a news by one of reader of Hideaki's website.
It news says Enpitsu Mawashi(Pencil Spinning) was in vogue in Aichi in 1937(started war of Japan vs China).
Japanese teachers thought that play of finger Enpitsu Mawashi makes students's brain fine.
so, students wasn't scolded thair spinning in a class by teachers.
their ps skills were TA Normal, Half TS, Drummer .

I don't know histories of pen spinning in other countries...

    QUOTE (Crzyazn)
when was the first bakfall/who created the combo?

    From this UPSBv2 thread...

    nhk_9 June 28, 2003
"Have you ever thought of a "Backaround Fall"... that is 12Back > 23Back (34 catch)"

    davidweis July 2, 2003
"I'm thinking a complete "Backaround Fall" would include a third backaround from 34.

The path a backaround takes is longer the further down the hand you start, to go all of the way from a 34 start around the back of the hand is really really hard to get consistent. But it would be worth working on to put together a "Backaround Fall", that would be cool."

    nhk_9 July 2, 2003
"I see. Should the 34 Backaround end with a 34 catch?"

    davidweis July 2, 2003
"No, if it were a 34 catch it would be considered a neo-bak variant. Any catch other than a index and thumb catch is considered a neo-bak variant. Backarounds have to travel all of the way around the hand to be caught with the index and thumb, thats why I say it is so difficult, in full notation it would be a 34Backaround12. (But the 12 is redundant information since it is a backaround not a neo-backaround.

Wow, did I just make that more complicated"

    nhk_9 July 2, 2003
"Actually I think I was talking about travelling over (and around) the index finger... so it would be like a normal Backaround, but only with its origin and end at 34 slot. The trick will be somewhat different than the 23 bak that you demonstrated in one your latest videos which featured the neo-bak to fulltap."

    nhk_9 July 2, 2003
"Would a standard 34Backaround end at 34 or 12. I am talking about the "around the index", standard version, not the neo-bak version."

    kam July 4, 2003
"I agree with David. All BackArounds should travel all the way around your fingers and come back to the starting position (the writing position, with pen between Thumb and Index). Otherwise, we couldn't use the word "Around", right Wink ?

However, a BackAround Fall, IMO, would be something different than what you guys are thinking. If you do a 12 Bak > 23 Bak > 34 Bak, the pen would be travelling in circles around your hand (starting with small circles and then bigger circles). That's not what a definition of a Fall should be. For it to be considered a Fall, I'd say it should travel down your fingers.

So here's what my view of a BackAround Fall should be: 12 NeoBak > 23 NeoBak > 34 NeoBak. As you know, a NeoBak would put the pen further down the fingers (at the space where the pen passes through) instead of bringing it back to the original position, like in a BackAround. This combo causes the pen to go down the fingers each time a NeoBak is performed. Obviously, this should be posted under the Under Development Forum, as its difficulty is extremely high. Both David and myself were able to do the first part of this Combo (actually, a 12 NeoBak > 23 Bak), but we both agreed that the motion is EXTREMELY awkward, and my guess is that the 34 NeoBak should be 10 times harder."

    nhk_9 July 4, 2003
    "Shouldn't that be called a "Neo-Bak Fall"?

To make Backarounds with same-sized circles, one could perform Backaround 12 with pen going around index, Backaround 23 with only pen going around middle finger (NOT middle + index) and Backaround 34 with pen going around only ring."

    kam July 4, 2003
"True...hehe. Neo-Bak Fall it is then Wink

As for you BackAround Fall, my only question is whether a BakAround around middle finger only would be considered a BackAround (or just a variation of the middle spin)."

What does UP stand for? Looks just like a regular ComSsa or Cartoon ComSsa (not sure if the stickers I'm coming to are transparent or have a white/yellowish background...) with one of these stickers attached to it.

    EDIT:

@ Rekkuuzan: I watched the video again, the green glow appears to come from the lamp or what it is on the right of the screen. It doesn't necessarily have to be an MMX version of the G-3, could just be a HGG grip with some Anyball sections on it aswell. The only thing I find weird is that the pen looks really big, while a G-3 is quite small.

  36. Sfsr
    Date: Fri, Oct 19 2007 19:37:33

Yeah it can, you just need to tape the back of the RSVP a bit, but you need to do that to the back of the G-3 if you want to have it there. I don't see why it would be a RSVP body instead of G-3, I mean.. A G-3 with a white HGG grip covering the front part, white paper or another white grip in the cap, a white insert, a white piece of grip/paper at the front and back of the grip and cap. Definitly looks like grip at the front in PSN 4th.

    Now, in my opinion that looks like the following;

    - A tip, possibly G-3 though it doesn't have to be that
    - HGG grip fitted over the G-3 grip. A piece black grip at both sides of it.
    - G-3 barrel
    - Insert that is black at the end, or just a piece of black grip/visible backcap before the cap begins
    - G-3 cap with cut of clip, a piece of the HGG grip and a tip in. The rest of the HGG grip is on the back of the cap. I don't see the second black stripe at the end of the cap, but it should be there somewhere. A piece of grip probably.

  40. Rekkuuzan
    Date: Sun, Oct 21 2007 02:18:19

Your whole analysis seems correct to me. Though at first I doubted the grip on the cap to be the rest of the HGG, thinking it was Anyball, but after looking at it from this view:

...it makes much more sense. Question though; how did you get the idea of a tip being in the cap? I don't see the slightest indication of there being one, or else my eyes must be really bad.

  41. Crzyazn
    Date: Sun, Oct 21 2007 02:41:38

In my picture, you can see a tip

It's like the GJH mod, where the metal g3 tip is shoved into the backcap for momentum.

I recreated Saizens mod following what I stated earlier btw. With a HGG tip in the cap and the G-3 tip in it's original place. Felt pretty, but looked pretty cool. I filmed some spinning with it before I de-modded it again, I liked my black/white Lakubo MMX more anyways :P

Is there a universal agreement when it comes to judging speed in penspinning battles? I always thought it was how the speed fit the combo, but I'm wondering what other boards thing speed is when judging combos.

  51. Mats
    Date: Sat, Oct 27 2007 13:38:46

In the world tournament, it soon became clear that there is no universal agreement on what speed was, and it was the subject of much debate and confusion. At the moment, to my knowledge, there isn't, but most people will say what you stated, that the speed is appropriate for the combo.

  52. Tim
    Date: Sat, Oct 27 2007 13:43:07

That's what I was thinking, because if Korean style is used by most Koreans (hence the name) then a Korean judge may think of speed as how fast the combo may be, whereas UPSB old timers, where the combos were a lot different and did not focus on speed as much, would probably think differently.

At the next world tournament, there needs to be standard for what speed is judged upon.

  53. Mats
    Date: Sat, Oct 27 2007 13:48:14

Speed was replaced with 'style' part-way in the tournament, if memory serves, and I think that is what it will be from now onwards.

  64. Sfsr
    Date: Mon, Nov 5 2007 14:22:50

You squeeze the inktube at 3.4 cm with pliers so it get's wider at that spot. That way, it won't pass the spring. Looks more proffesional then tape smile.gif

    QUOTE (Look into the Sun)
Shouldn't the backaround 1.5 be... backspin 1.5? Since, it's thumbspin 1.5 and not thumbaround 1.5.
@Look into the Sun: it depends on how you perform it. The way I tend to perform Backaround 1.5, it would be broken down as:

    Backaround T12-T12[p][s 1.0] ~ Halftap ReverseT12-T12[s 0.5][c]
So what does a backaround 1.5 fall look like and what does a backspin 1.5 fall look like?

@Look into the Sun: The Backaround 1.5 that I'm talking about is similar to how KiT-CaT performs his, but on both the thumb and index finger, check his website for a video.

Backspin doesn't have a definite starting/ending position since it only means spinning on the back of the hand. You could do Backspins from any position with any kind of push and catch you want, just like Thumbspin...Thumbspin doesn't have to look anything like a Thumbaround.

"Backaround 1.5" Fall can look like a Backaround Fall as orginally intended...
    Backaround 1.5 T12-T1-23 > Backaround 1.5 23-T1-34 > Backaround 1.5 34-T12

For this combo, the pen can more easily spin on the back of the hand for the second & third Backarounds, they could be called Backspins if you wanted.

...it could also be something like...
    Backaround T12-T1-23 > Backaround 1.5 23-12-34 > Backaround 1.5 34-23-34

For this combo, the pen is spinning around individual fingers instead of passing through the T1 slot each time, with the pen spinning 0.5 on the back of the hand which could also be called Backspin.

@Imagm-1337: The hybrid that you described is how Out-In Sonic is supposed to be performed, it's a hybrid not a combo. The combo that you described before (Sonic 34-23 > Inverse Sonic 23-12) doesn't have a name, it's just a combo.

The picture on the wiki is small and it seems as though its covering the clicker band on the g2 pen, but it never said that you'd have to sand it down for the rsvp cap to fit on.

    thanks

I added more to the steps at the end of the RSVG2 wiki article. You can do one of two things: shave the band until the RSVP cap fits or remove the band and use tape on the G2 until the cap fits. For the photo in the wiki, I just removed the band so that the RSVP cap could be pushed farther on for a tighter fit.

My camera isn't working so I can't get a clip of it at the moment.

No, they will not dry out easily, but they will dry out eventually. Differs from color to color, light colors die faster than dark. I agree though LItS, it would be fantastic to see more big spin tricks, especially several multiple spin tricks within a combo. I've been pushing Asakawa on PSUK to do some big shadows and man are they SEXY. I hope he puts them into a combo; I hope some really skilled spinners put big spin tricks into combos more often.

I'm not sure about NIKoo, but Key3 is using his version of the G-3 mod. There's a tutorial for it, but it's completely in Japanese.

The one shown in the tutorial isn't key3's actual own. It's a G-3 (plastic ver.) mod because it uses its body and plastic tip.

I think you misunderstood me there.

The tutorial you were given the link to is the correct way to make key3's G-3 mod. The image shown just isn't his own particular pen. That's probably why you got confused, thinking it doesn't look like it because the colour scheme is different.

As for NIKoo's mod, I'm positively sure it uses a G-3 as well by the looks of it. I have yet to see a request of instructions for its assembly on JEB or anywhere else, but I'll keep an eye out.

  182. Erirornal K.
    Date: Tue, Apr 8 2008 20:03:21

The most elaborate explanation would be:

A Fingerless Around around the lowest finger of the trick where you end. [Twisted Sonic 23-12 --> Fingerless IndexAround 12-12]
This reverses when one executes the reverse of that trick:
A Fingerless Around Reverse around the highest finger of the trick where you end. [Twisted Sonic Reverse 23-34 --> Fingerless PinkyAround Reverse 34-34.

MX > GJH with 0.5 lead
MX ≥ GJH with 0.7 lead

The GJH with 0.5 lead breaks really easily so you can't write with it. The GJH with 0.7 lead works fine and spins very well. Overall the MX is very slightly better but the GJH is still a great thing to spin.

how is it in terms of spinnability (probably spelled wrong, lol) ? I heard that the spinning space is quite smaller, is it true? and does it bother you?
also, I'd like to know how heavy is it.. compared to others mods and such..
oh, and last last thing, does it write? X:

I'll be glad if someone could answer those questions, or at least some of them ^^"

    Date: Wed, Jun 11 2008 14:15:24

I'd say that the ayatori mod spins pretty well. Even though it has only a signo tip on both ends it does feel pretty heavy when spun (not KT heavy, but considerably more than a comssa metallic or a MSXA)

The cut grip on the fron can feel a little bit weird when doing infinity-based tricks, bit you can get used to it pretty easily.

Overall I'd say it spins pretty well, the spinning space isn't much less than an MX, and it looks sexy happy.gif

  240. QuestionMark
    Date: Wed, Jun 11 2008 15:10:34

thanks for the quick reply ^^
my only concern right now is if it'll be too heavy for me, because I don't like heavy mods.. I don't guess there is a way of making it lighter, right? X:
oh, and, does it write or not? ^^"

  241. iamk34n3
    Date: Wed, Jun 11 2008 17:52:36

You could remove the signo tip and the back. And if I remember correctly, it writes out of the back like an MX.

  242. Outlander
    Date: Wed, Jun 11 2008 18:33:30

I guess you could replace the signo tips with HGG tips instead. that would still work and make it lighter.

The backcap with the jimnie/hyperjell grip inside actually fits on very tightly on the Lakubo body. And if you use an insert in the cap, removing it will mean that you need to re-align the insert everytime..

The original mod does not say to reverse the inktube, and I think its because of the tight fitting cap on the back

  243. QuestionMark
    Date: Wed, Jun 11 2008 18:55:03

oh well.... it's too damn sexy not to be made, so I guess I'll make it anyway, even if it doesn't write ^^"
but wait, if I won't use an insert in the cap I'll probably could get it to write normally, without problem?
sorry if I bother you much ^^""

  244. Outlander
    Date: Wed, Jun 11 2008 19:51:01

Yeah, you could, but the cap on the back is still tight, and it can be kind of a pain to take off and put back on. Try it out, maybe it wont be too annoying for you happy.gif

Yes, that is Phya. If one is to watch the video 'Evolution' by Phya you will see clearly that it is indeed him.

That video seems to be made up of clips taken from other people's own videos? I certainly recall seeing nhk_9 doing that very same combo at the end of one of his Troposphere promos, the three ball juggling is taken from a Chris Bliss video and I believe even that clip of Phya was not made for this collaboration.

huh(1).gif When making the Hybrid Comssa MX (HCMX) from Trogz, in step 2 on the tutorial from the wiki, what is the easiest way to hollow out the comssa cap so the hgg ink can fit?

  248. k2thez
    Date: Mon, Jun 16 2008 21:37:22

Once you've cut off the tip of the comssa, if you have an x-acto knife just stick it in there and turn it until the ink fits. If you don't have an x-acto knife, a regular pocket knife works, or maybe small scissors, small sharp tools work well.

It's a Shadow Riser, that's the aerial trick. Shadow Rise is Shadow 34-23 > Shadow 23-12.

Shadow Riser is done by doing a normal shadow. Once it starts rotating on top of the fingers, you move your hand up quickly -- you sort of jerk it up and it should rise into the air. Catch as you would a TA Release.

    Devil's Sonic:
    * Charge Normal 23 ~ Pass Reverse 23-12 ~ Shadow Normal 12-12
    * Twisted Sonic Normal 23-12 ~ Shadow Normal 12-12

    Devil's Around:

    * Twisted Sonic Normal 23-12 ~ Shadow Normal 12-23
    * Charge Normal 23 ~> Middlearound Normal 23-23

    Devil's Shadow:
    * Shadow Normal 1.0 12-23 ~ Fingerless Middlearound Normal 0.5 23-12 ~ Charge Normal 0.5 12
    * Charge Normal 0.5 12 ~ {Fingerless Middlearound Normal 12-12} >

There has been some recent discussion about this in the Research Dept. I think there will be some synch pen spinning later this summer. Certainly It's something I'm hoping to work on after my battles and Evolution. Perhaps someone will do some for the Evolution video?

As in 0.5, 0.7, 1.0 etc no, and neither in size of the pen itself. It does come with different inks though, like this 3D effect ink that gets all fluffy when you heat it, or the ink that's all glazy. How broad the tips are is thus different on these pens, but that doesn't matter when it comes to making Ballsign Mods of them.

The tip weights re essentially the same, and the outter shape is identical. If you look inside the big opening on the back end of the tip, the ones sold in france have a beveled edge, and the ones from japan are flat.

It really doesn't make a difference if you're making a KT.

No they are very different. Bic's have a different feeling surface on the cap and the body...in addition the KM has a surface on its cap that is the same as its body's surface.

It is impossible to make a bictory with a KM because there is no actual backplug.
The back of a KM is just plastic. Look at the difference.

And I don't think they get removed...if you look at the last pages of the topic lists in a category...the threads from when UPSB v3 opened are still there.

You basically just rub it on the barrel. But I'll advise you not to use sugar because it can leave scratch marks on the barrel.

Try using Nail Polish Remover or fold a piece of plain computer paper until its it small and rub the edge on the barrel (probably the easiest way).

No you don't remove the lakubo grip. The signo knock type grip goes over the lakubo grip.

A normal Comssa is just a black barrel, sometimes with the original manufacturer's logo printed on the barrel. However, the PDS Comssa v1-3, I believe, have a special Pendolsa logo printed onto the barrel. The remaining versions have stickers stuck onto the barrel. Some of the versions even feature different colored caps, such as black and blue. That's the only difference.

Some people on JEB found person's pens in Japan so far by accident, however they are already extremely rare pens, so it's difficult to get them anywhere. I don't know how much they cost or they are worth, by the way.

I know Eriror is 16, by the way s777 looks he can't be more than 17, and I'd guess Key3 and Saizen are around 18-19, Banz is probably the oldest. As for your second question, Carpal Tunnel will kick in soon enough.

Just Print out the insert at some big size (but not too big) and slowly trim it and adjust it until it fits. I think PGs are mass produced. Not sure though.

it is a clear comssa,, made by putting a cut G2 front part on a HGG body... which gives you the line..
the body is entirely round,, and the pen spins quite nice.

Screws, tips, metal stuff, sticky tak, or anything else that weighs, in the caps.
    More grips on the caps.
    Tips on the outside.

Dr Grip grip weighs pretty much so that would work fine. As for tips, I just tested HGGs and they fit in the caps. I don't think you should try to make it so much heavier though, it wouldn't really feel like a PlayColor mod then.

No, for some pens like the RSVP MX, they superglue the HGG tip on, so it might be hard to take off unless you have superglue dissolvent or something.

And yes, the insert is removable.

None! It is up to you to decide which is preferable for you. The MX is slightly off-balance, at least if you use a HGG tip, but the MSXA can be too long and heavy for some people.

Try them both out, or pick the one you think looks best and stick to it. I don't think either would give you a better chance of improving at PS, they're "equally good" (no homo).

They have almost the same diameter. The plastic used in the G3 barrel is thinner. Shinier? Idk.. my G3s look shinier than RSVPs. Other differences would be removable tip, grip differences and backplug.

If I'm correct that Chukii's insert, and idk it just like became famous, if you do the whole, same color grips and stuff. I think that because the community was so like... influential to one an other it just started to take everyone by storm. I think it looks great in an MX though.

    materials

1 watercolor body (expensive/hard to find)
    2 ct caps
2 alpha gel tips (super expensive)
    sarasa grips

most people add vinyl-tape stripes as well

take ct caps. hollow out the center pieces. refer to this for hollowing out caps:http://www.upsb.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=14864

remove the grip-stripe things from the alpha gel tips, place them in the caps, tip facing inwards.

put half a sarasa grip on each cap

    hollow out watercolor body

    put caps on

    done

    Its just a knock-off.
Bics and signo's has a crazy amount of knockoffs because the shape/process of making them is extremely cheap and simple.
Although, signo knock-offs don't have metal tips.

Well.. depends what you mean by breaking...

Clear barrels tend to Crack before breaking into 2 pieces. Takes alot of force to crack, but will break with one swift force
Plastic bodies tend to bend before breaking into 2 pieces. Takes less force to bend, but takes alot of small force over time to break.

Well, he asked for something with similar momentum so i wouldn't say kUzu or saizen as being pens with similar momentum, in fact, the saizen doesn't have much momentum at all...
i'd go with something that's comssa/kt/m&m/ct/etc... body based since the g3 or rsvp's plastic body will greatly lower a pen's momentum

What's the point of ink reversal? (as opposed to just removing the ink tube entirely)

    Also,

Kam told me the reversed inktube was made so that when you spin you don't get ink on your hands. and also then the mod can write.

Apparently reversing your ink makes your mx more balanced. But i really don't see the differnce when i spin. You can take it out if you want. Its abit lighter, but if you get used to it, it'll be fine

Can someone explain the difference between...
    ...Twisted sonic and inverse sonic?

    Thanks!

If you watch the videos of twisted sonic vs inverse sonic, you'll be able to see that the twisted sonic has 1.5 rotations while the inverse sonic only has 1.0 rotations. Look at which side the tip of the pen is pointing at first, and then see which way it is point afterwards. For the twisted sonic, the tip will face the opposite side at the end, and for the inverse sonic, the tip will face the same side when the trick is complete.
-Twisted sonic is the combination of a charge~> pass whereas inverse sonic is a sonic that goes in front of your finger instead of behind your finger (behind as in..having the finger folded in)

Pass and around are different in that the around 0.5 requires a push. The force needed to do an around 1.0 and a pass is different, and you use the same force that you would for the around 1.0 for the around 0.5, you just stop the around after 0.5 spins with another finger.
(With Around 0.5, you can create a korean looking mini combo.... Around 0.5 23-12 > pass 12-23 .... and it creates a counter look as opposed to how a simple pass rev 23-12 > pass 12-23 would look like)

So... for the twisted sonic vs inverse sonic, watch some vids and you'll see the difference.
For the Pass vs around 0.5, figure out the difference between teh initial pushes... and then you'll see the difference

    Hope this helps happy.gif

I was talking about the spin types, not the tricks. Both spin types involve the pen spinning around a finger, and as far as I know the spin types are only about the spin, not the push or catch - why are they categorized separately on the wiki?

    It's to remove confusion really.

    Imagine breaking down a twisted sonic as charge 23-23 0.5 > mid around 0.5 23-12 > charge 12-12

Also, if you notice, there's a slight bit of difference in the start of the trick.

You can try a seven, it's a good mod. nothing special. A firefly is a stick, i dont recommend it, but it's up to you. It spins pretty badly (imo) which is why I guess no one seems to use it but A13X, but it's a really good-looking mod. I dont know about the rest.

i recommend that you do what i do. make your own mod. make it as nice as you like. test it out. if you dont like it, change it. if you come up with something really cool, name it yourself. it's nice having something that's purely yours that no one else has. being unique is nice, don't you think? too many seven and kuzu mods out there anyway.

Actually, aren't sunbursts/the other RSVPs a little bit different? Like, rzdz, colors, moonz, cubix, fines, meds, are all grouped into one. But front of sunbursts are longer than the regular RSVP, but the body is shorter. JC had a pic somewhere, I'll try to find it.

RSVP sunburst has gel ink. If you try to stick sunburst ink inside a colors/rzldzl/moonz/cubix/etc. it won't fit.

No, a tribute is usually just a collection of some spinner's vids. if you type "Eriror" in youtube for example, one of the first vids is "Tribute to Eriror" in which, all the vids are made by Eriror himself. Rorix (I think) collected some and edited them togather with some music.

I'm not sure if you want the mod tutorial or not so I just pasted everything here from this thread.

Note: I know the original tutorial did not put the images in a spoiler but I put them in here to avoid lagging(for some people who may have weak connections or what). I've definitely no intention of editing anything for my own purpose.

what do you call a video or some video, where a pen spinner tries to copy a famous spinners moves as a tribute to him/her....

isnt that just called a tribute or something, not sure.

    but anyways.
for a buster cyl, if you changed the barrel to a comssa/computer sign or a namae pen, would the weight decrease or feel any difference while spinning it? ohmy.gif

  583. Glamouraz

    comssa barrel is shorter.

Namae barrel is thicker and shorter too i think.

    There will definately be changes.

no, a tribute is just a compilation of the spinner's videos. the only thing you do is edit the footage or throw in music, something like that.
but I'm not sure what a "video trying to copy a spinner's moves" is called.

  586. JC
    Date: Sun, May 31 2009 14:34:40

ninjaaa13 is correct in defining what a tribute is
a video where you copy another spinner's combo exactly is simply called a copy
a video where you copy only some sections of another spinner's combo or copy their style is called an imitation of that spinner

Nope, my metallic comssa is 11g (with 5 rings anyball grip)
Weighed it at the post office XD
RSVP MX is ~12.6g (according to wiki), and it feels heavier ^^

edit: i mean 5 rings on each side, just incase i wasn't clear, should be clear though o.o... XD

Yeah, my bad... What i meant was that japanese one have a nicer feeling ^^ IMO they're a bit more grippy.

I've also checked which one is harder - i have 2 different shaker grips (one from Japan and one probably from China o_O): one of them is a bit harder while second is a bit softer than french one...

Right now I'm using a metal comssa with rubber rings for grip. The metal tips make me drop it sometimes. And the rings don't offer as much grip as a regular grip, they're there to make the pen look nicer. Should I continue practicing with this or get a different pen? I do like the weigh of this one. Is there another easy way to add weigh without putting the metal tips on the tips?

  610. k-ryder
    Date: Sun, Jan 10 2010 05:44:43

    you can either:
put paper/sticky tack in the caps (only if you are sure ur gonna like it, sticky tack is a bitch to get out)
or, you can put the tips inside the caps, but this can change the spinning feeling

as to whether you change pens, thats your decision
if you have another pen, then by all means, try that one
if you can afford it, again, if you want to

    2. record for [fl ta ~ palmspin] continuous is x170 by spinnerpeem, record palmspin revolutions is ta ~ palmspin 14.0 by clumsy [JEB] iirc (A-13X might have beat in, i'm not sure, check his 2 1/2 year solo video)
