Regular Pen Discussion / Where's the COP?

So, today I found a really weird problem with COPs(Centre Of Pen). First off, when we use the same material on both side of a pen, we always think that the COP is gonna be in extactly in the middle, right? So if we place our finger in the middle of the pen, it's gonna balance, right? And lastly, if we spin the pen, the COP is NOT gonna change, right? Well, here's something that will change your mind.

    Image #1 :

As we all can see that my finger there are more towards the left side. I use the same materials on both sides, and for the tapes, I even measured them and also, there's nothing inside each cap or barrel, so you don't have question those. But something really weird happen in image #2.

    Image #2 :

After I turned pen around, you can see that my finger is at the COP(Or VERY close). This also happened to my BICtory, so I took a part of my BICtory and made this mod and a mod I call "Pilory"(Which also experience this fucking problem).

Have anyone of you ever experience this? I know I did. If you did, have you find any way to solve this problem? If so, please post. Thank You.
But until anyone can solve this, it's still a myth...

Put the pen inside a rubberband and move it until it stays balanced.

    COP = length of pen / 2
COB & COG = were the pen balances on your finger or rubberband.
This might help clear some things up.

    Edit:
Thus the center of the pen is always at the middle of the pen but the center of balance or center of gravity is not always at the center or middle of the pen and can change due to adding or subtracting weight from either side of the pen.
    Done editing this post.

    Edit:
Oops I might be wrong. I read over the wiki definition and it seems that the COP is viewed possibly to have both meanings.

Yeah I always thought that COP and COB were different... But Wiki def confused me dry.gif .. COP shouldn't include both meanings since the Center Of Pen and Center Of Balance are often at different positions.

The origins of COP could be found in UPSBv2, but I am currently having difficulties trying to access it.

Anyway, COP was 'created' by Kam as an acronym for Center (of Mass) of Pen.
The reason he didn't want to use COMP was because it sounded like yet another acronym for computers, which would make pen spinners look nerdy. Hence, he used the term COP instead.

The following is a link to the old pentix site with COP in the glossary:

That's right. The literary meaning of the center of pen isn't very useful in the context of pen spinning, except to provide comparison to the position of the center of mass (or gravity or balance) of pen (i.e. how close or far the center of mass is to the middle). To avoid confusion, the 'middle of pen' can be used to denote the same position as the literary meaning of the COP.
