retractable mx^2? imo mx^2 are the most balanced overall pen. making it retractable should fit your needs.

I think your criteria are not specific enough
There are LOTS of pens like that
I mean, almost all mods are thicker than a bictory, there are tons of single sided mods that are reasonably if not perfectly balanced.
I suggest you try checking out the mod section and threads to see what interests you and mod the pens yourself and or trade/buy.
I find modding pens fun and more satisfying but personal choice really.
Trying them out hands on is the best way to find your perfect pen.
Plus, spinning different pens help you find what you like specifically in a pen so you can also create your own mods or modify other mods for your needs. -

what length too?
if you like general pens, i suggest mpmx (dori style) -

I think MSXA is the best.
It can write (reversed ink tube)
Balanced if you put another hgg tip in the front
Barrel is nice(RSVP)
and it feels pretty nice to spin -

Well, the reason I made this thread is because I cannot buy alot of pens and try them out, because I dont have much money.
But, I have come down to 2 pens. the MX^2, and the MSXA.
Which is easier to spin with for a beginner????? -

there is no way we can name ONE pen that is perfect for you
i say MX is the best single sided pen in the world, but i might immediately get beaten up by SEVEN's fans, someone might think Saizen mod is the best, but then it probably is too heavy for others..
you have to know more about wut kinda pen you want, at least heavy/light, long/short -

Id say an MSXA with atleast 2 HGG tips on it. one on the comssa cap and one on the rsvp plastic tip.

Don't forget, the length of each pen
MSXA is pretty long, so if your hands are small, go for the MX^2
They are both great pens -

MX^2.
So much more better, imo.
3 Hgg tips on the front and its an amazing mod. -

LOL i told you, MSXA. High level of customization, easy to make, good pen.

+1
In addition to MX^2s just being absolutely amazing I believe that it is a better pen to get because MSXAs are really long, most likely too long for many spinners while the MX^2 has a very nice length. -

its an amazing mod -

Writable, spins great, perfect balanced.
If u cant get hyperjell/jimnie caps then make a twistable msxa (twistable mx->twistable msxa).
Twistable is way better than any other retractable mechanism because its cheap (most people throw that twist thingie away) and works great with no rattling and its easy to make.QUOTEi agree, mx is the best in the world

MX is a cool mod but it really sucks if u want to use it as main pen for learning and spinning hard tricks. I dont get why such comments occur every few weeks, it does not destroy the mx to add a signo tip, second (or 3 hgg tips wich makes it spin as good as a seven/key3 mod) hgg oder something else to make it balanced, it makes it good.
MX is for writing or for fun too (i think its fun to spin mx) but nothing as main pen.

Uhh... I don't think you are right in that statement
There are PLENTY of pro spinners that spin or have spun with the MX as their main pen.
Check out the old school korean pen spinners

Areso I believe uses the MX and there probably others
Sure more balanced and heavier pens are easier to spin with, but that doesn't mean that the MX sucks as a main mod -

@JSH, Well, first to clear things up.. I think purplet just means that it's not a good pen nowadays to be a main mod because of the high level of difficulty of tricks out there. Perhaps back then, using an MX was alright, and it was just difficult for them to make their old korean spinning smooth...but now with this increased level of difficulty and with trying to get all that smooth with a MX, an MX is just not ideal as a main pen. And Areso, a new generation spinner, uses an Areso mod--which is nothing like a MX other than that it uses an HGG grip on the front; it has a total of 5 tips of varying weights in it. So using only an MX to spin will lower the speed at which a person learns tricks at drastically, and cannot keep up with the rest of the spinners.
Not saying that MX isn't a good pen though. I love watching MX videos, and I advocate spinning it...but it needs to be supplemented with another pen to first learn the tricks rapidly with, and then to do smoothly on the MX or another pen.
Now, as for this thread, this is sounding like a "Which pen is better?" thread, which we all more or less know by now is pretty much a subjective question.
@JBt, Try out different pens and see what you like. Even when you get recommendations, you'll get a wide variety of recommendations...and you'll still end up trying more than one pen out to see what you like better. So just search for mods that you may like on your own, make them, try them, and see if you like them.
This is a useless thread. JBt, just do some experimenting.
