    The Black Mod

    ~

    ~

    ~

I personally thing that this is a good spare parts mod. It uses the left over rings from an airfit, a left over comssa body, BIC caps which are cheap, a CT/KT backplug which may be a spare part, G2 grips and grip sections that are left over and the Flexgrip tips that are more commonly found, the round ones.

    ~

    [COG]: Center of Pen
    [Length]: 21cm
[Weight]: The Black Mod > Grip Aviaire
    [Style]: Double Sided
    [Writing-Mechanism]: N/A (but optionally capped)
    [Ink-Type]: N/A (but optionally BIC/HGG)
[Estimated-Cost]: $10-$15 (depending on what spare parts you already have)

    ~

    [Materials List]:
    [1x]: Dong-A Comssa body
    [2x]: Flex Grip Elite tips
    [2x]: BIC Round Stic caps
[2x]: Pilot G2 grips (2 complete and 2 sections of 2 rings and 2 sections of 3 rings)
    [4x]: Zebra Airfit rings

    ~

    [Tools List]:
[1x]: X-Acto knife or cutting tool
    [1x]: Sandpaper
    [1x]: Superglue (optional)

    ~

    [Tutorial]:
    1) Gather your materials.

    2) Remove ONLY the very fronts of the BIC caps as such. Try your best to not take off too much of the flat part of the cap.

    3) Insert the Flexgrip tips into the bored out fronts of the BIC caps.

    4) Remove the part of the cap that has the logo/clip on it. Sand only up until the lip disappears. Again, try to not sand off too much of the flat part of the cap.

    5) Put the full G2 grips on the caps. Have the last ring section line up perfectly with the end of the cap as shown.

    6) Using a dab of glue (optionally), put 2 of the Airfit rings on the ends of the G2 grip/cap combination.

    7) Remove the Lip from the middle of the KT/CT backcap. Then remove about half of a centimeter off of the end of the backcap. The red backcap is used as a comparison.

    8) Push the cut KT/CT backcap into the back of the Comssa body. Make sure you have what is shown.

    9) On each side of the Comssa body, slide on the 3 ring set, the Airfit ring and the 2 ring set as shown in the picture. They just need to be on the body. Adjustments will ensue later.

    10) Using glue (optionally) affix the caps to the each end of the body.

    11) Push all of the grips and rings against the caps securely. You have now just made The Black Mod!

Nice one Guit‼ Try making one using a white ComSsa body, clear Bic caps, and G2 EX Grips or clear Super Grips. I want to see what it looks like. tongue.gif

i know i don't comment on mods much, but this one looks really nice. a black/silver color match is a really nice combination that's is made even better in your mod because it's not made from an insert. i also like your choice of materials trying to use the pieces that many other mods ignore and waste.

great job, continue the work man, you're an asset to this board

It looks nice for the most part. Signature G2-CTE Vortex G2 grip stylings.

The only I'd try improve would be the metal rings, aesthetically they look nice, but it doesn't match up with the G2 grips as well, they stick out a bit more than what would seem to normal.

    Besides that,

Job well done, i'll see about making one sometime soon.

i think that if you made this mod and you replace the g2 grips/rings with profile grips, then it would be more accurate to the original black mod that s777 spins

What are the measurements on the Airfit rings? I might have something lying around that may act as a sub.

bic round stic body is too fat to fit into a computer sign pen body
