    QUOTE (Introduction)
This Mod was created after I realised how many Mods were out there, and they were all the same, or could substitute parts and be the exact same as another one! That is, Oversized cap, stuff grips in cap, put tape on pen, stick cap on, add grips to pen, add a metal tip.

Most of my personal mods have been mods that have already been created, and I made thinking it was entirely new XD (e.g. My Flexible MX, Pencil-style Grip Aviaire.)

This mod (in my opinion) revolves around something that is graciously ignored due to its lightness. The Crayola Super Tip's cap. I have actually been making little mods here and there using it for about two weeks now. I released my initial version without thinking about how to improve the pen, and only after I posted it and looked like an idiot, did I realize It could be improved drastically.

    Name: LakuboST
    Weight: Not sure; 15 - 20 grams.
    Length: 20.7 cm
    COP = COG Perfect. Symmetry
    Estimated Cost: $10 - 15

    Notes
    • Pen Modding knowledge is required. Please read this before attempting this modification.
    • Previously i recomended using RSVP or sunburst as a different barrel; however, now, I will not recommend it, or recommend it as the feel is very different and the thickness of the SuperTip cap isn't the right size for a smooth change from the barrel to the cap. If you use the old Mod, though, I would recommend it because it wont matter.
    • All the mod parts can be found in Australia.
    • Although 4 Signo Metal tips are used, Two can be used
    • QUOTE (Read.)
Okay, to those who dont like the cap>pen ratio, i'll try to get black caps, as with black caps, + tinted area, when spinning you can hardly see where the cap starts. The mod, now, circulates around having high momentum but still high speed whilst spinning. The speed is enforced by how the body is thinner than most pens, which are approximately 10 mm thick. Lakubo, is approximately 7 mm thick (in diameter) which makes it faster. Whether people agree with me on that or not, I dont really care, because I've spun with a crazy bictory and a personal MX which were both 20-25 grams, and the bictory (well, from the tricks i could perform) was faster.

Therefore, I will now, not even think about recommending using sunburst/MX as a sub (if you could even use them after this new method.)

Long story short, if people want lakubos, I would recommend going to 'Chogoling' if you already don't have a good trade supply. He is trusted and he can get both tinted and clear lakubo. He prefers trades over buying. Aus.

Anyway, if people will complain that the cap is too long, then I suggest looking at the SuperTip MX or whatever it is called to use your supertip, because I labeled this as [Finale] because I'm sure the only improvements now, will be just extra grips / metal tips, or on a visual scale, different caps (which I will release once i'm out of a personal economic crisis)

In my personal opinion, if anyone here spins a Lakubo Mod, give this a try, and if you like momentum, try this aswell. Has a nice amount of it, but its hidden quite well (in my opinion)
    • If you want a link to that SuperTip MX thingy, its SFRMX, and you can find it here. The pictures dont look that good, but scroll down to guitrum's pictures and you'll see it in all its smexy glory.

    Equipment
    • Craft Knife
    • Clear Tape
    • Super Glue
    • 1x Uni-Ball Lakubo Barrel
    • 2x Papermate Profile / Anyball Grip
    • 2x Crayola SuperTip Lid
    • 4x Uni-Ball Signo Metal Tip

    Method
    1. Gather all material.

      Spoiler:
    2. Cut the Lakubo barrel at approximatey 4 - 6 mm (just under the groove)

      Spoiler:
    3. Place grips on cap.

      Spoiler:
    4. Insert an insert (lul.)

      Spoiler:
    5. Screw the caps onto the pen, and take out the caps, apply superglue at the area where the caps are placed, and screw them back on.
If you get some superglue on the barrel, then quickly wipe them downwards with your hands. Superglue on spinning area ruins the feel

      Spoiler:
    6. Place two Signo Metal tips in each end of the Supertip cap.

      Spoiler:

    7. Insert two Signo Metal Tips into each cap. Use some tape

    Safety Precautions and extra information
    • [REF - Step 2] Knives are dangerous. Use with care.
    • [REF - Step 4] Use some skin lotion, hair conditioner, oil, or something slippery to place the grip on the cap.
    • [REF - Step 5] If you get Super glue on your hands, you can remove it with nail polish remover. Don't try to eat it out, or peel it out. If you don't have nail polish remover, then just leave it; it'll fall out in a few days.

    Thanks.

Btw; it looks really metallic and very nice with a properly rolled aluminum foil insert (rolled using a sunburst gel ink).

it looks nice, but it looks like it has a small spinning area.

confusedsmilie.gif The spinning area is approximately 12 cm. The caps are durable enough to be used as an extended body and the transition is quite smooth, which is aided further by the sticky tape.

Haha. You listened to my advice. And i think it looks awesome now since is symmetrical.

Now this mod is getting somewhere. My suggestion is though to cut down on the cap length. The cap to body ratio is very ugly right now. Otherwise, this looks SOOOOOOOOOOO much more fun to spin.

And don't make 3 topics. Just edit the first topic over and over again per people's feedback.

To hoiboi; if you paid attention, this is actually the second topic.

Heres a suggestion. Use tape to thicken the part of the barrel where the caps are placed at instead of super glue.

Heres a suggestion. Use tape to thicken the part of the barrel where the caps are placed at instead of super glue.

Super glue keeps a good hold of the caps, whilst the tape will not work as well because the area is too small to use tape (the caps will break off more easily with tape).

That area does not need thickening. It is the same thickness all the way through, so it will look and feel unnatural.
