Mod based on the HGG^2 by DarkArcher

Well, I'm just gonna make a simple tutorial for the HGG^2R. I know K4S said it was easy, but I added a few things to make it noiseless. Credit to DarkArcher for coming up with the original HGG^2.

    Stats

Length: 20.1 cm (longer because of the G2 clicker)
Weight: A tiny bit lighter than the MX
CoG: A tiny bit off CoP
    Difficulty: Easy-Medium

    Pens:
    1 HGG-Grip and body
1 G2-front part, back part, grip, and clicker
    RSVP inktube
Spring (make sure it's small, G2 spring does NOT work)
    Toothpick
Hacksaw or anything to cut the barrel with.
    Clear tape
Double sided tape (optional but recommended)

    Hybrid Hgg² Mod by DarkArcher

Notice: It is a better idea to start from scratch than to make your non-retractable HGG^2 retractable, because I used a Bic back plug to close out the back G2 part. If you did this start over, if you did not do this. Dissassemble your HGG^2, and begin modding.

    Here's the materials:

    1. Front part of G2 with HGG grip on
    2. RSVP inktube
    3. Cut HGG body (ignore the tape at the front for now)
    4. Spring
    5. Inktube
    6. G2 clicker
    7. G2 Back part
    8. toothpick (with tape at the end)
    9. insert

If you are making your regular HGG^2 retractable, make sure the back part is not loose, if it is the back will fly off. To make sure this doesn't happen, cut a new HGG body, sand a tiny bit, and put the G2 back part on. Sand it until it fits very firmly, but not so firm that you can't take it off.

    Step 1:
Put clicker into G2 backpart. (easy enough no picture needed)

    Step 2:
Crimp inktube at 2.2 cm from the writing tip. Take your spring, stretch it and bend it slightly to reduce noise.

Step 3: Cut a toothpick down to about 4 cm, and put a wad of clear tape on the back like this:

Sorry for the blurry pic, but you can see the tape. This is to make sure the toothpick doesn't go into that first part of the clicker, and make the inktube not come out enough.

Step 4: Take the G2 inktube, and wrap some clear tape around it. To see if it is the right amount, put it in the FRONT part of the G2, if it goes in firmly, and you can take it out that's perfect. Keep trying to get it right. This is done to stabalize front and reduce noise.

Step 5: Wrap a small, but good amount of double sided tape around the back part of the HGG body. (the part where the G2 front with the HGG grip normally goes.) This is done to keep the G2 front on and so it won't fly off from pressure of the spring.

Step 6: Put the G2 inktube into the back of the HGG body

Step 7: Put toothpick into inktube, and put the insert into the HGG body. Then, put the inktube in from the FRONT of the body, where the G2 back part will go, then put the back part of the G2 on.

Step 8: Put the spring into the G2 front part. Put the G2 front part on the back part of the HGG body where the double sided tape is.

    Now you're done!

    Final Product:

    Feedback welcome.

Simple and effective, nice mod. And even though i said its simple there are always the lemmings who have no critical thinking skill and need to be told exactly what to do so a tutorial was probably needed.

not a bad take on the HGG^2 mod. It just really reminds me of the R2G2

Hey! I made a mod almost exactly like this, except that mine is the length of an MX and has a metal tip instead of just the G2 end, and the weight is in the center. Not to be critical or anything, but I think that overall, my version of the mod might be slightly better than yours. This isn't just out of plain cockiness that I am saying this, because I really am not cocky. In fact, I made your mod, and compared it to mine. I judged mine with a very critical eye, as I did yours, and mine came out first in most aspects, except momentum and simplicity to make. I think I will post a tut for my version later, when I have time, at the same time I post my new G3 mod that I have made. Before you try to prove me wrong, or to say things, please wait until I have posted a tut on my version of the mod. Then I won't mind. You can be as critical as you please to either me, or my mod.

    Don't worry, I understand. It's really just a retractable version of DarkArcher's HGG^2.

I know, I don't like the colors either, but it's all I had.

im telling u that your mod is very similar to the repeg mod which is the 5th mod on this page. The only difference is that the repeg uses an rsvp grip instead of an hgg, like yours. I know that yours is a retractable version of the hgg2, but the end result is similar to the repeg. No offense about what i said before though...

Ha, of course fung would have come up with a retractable mod. I guess I didn't look back far enough.

Oh that's right, I completely forgot about him making that back then. I guess k2thez just cleaned it up to make it look a lot nicer. Props anyways.

I believe that's the way DA did it. I think it was a good idea because it's easier to get the back part on first because it's stronger.
