I already talked to Zombo about this, and he didn't seem like much help. So here's the story:

3 weeks ago on May 6th, I sent out money and a list of pens to penwish for their money order. I eagerly waited for a week, and contacted penwish everyday for the progress on my package. A week later, I asked him if he had received my letter. He said he did not, and asked me what address I sent the letter to. Well, the penwish person (through aim) told me that the Post Office I sent to, he no longer uses. It is the exact same address on this page : http://penwish.com/contact_us.php
    which is :

    PenWish.com
    PO Box 574
    Grayslake, IL 60030

So the penwish guy told me that it would be sent back to me from the post office. I said ok, but pissed off at such a mistake. I asked him why the post office couldn't just send it to his address, and he told me that it was already sent to my house.
Another week passed, and on May 20th, two days ago, I still haven't gotten my letter, which contains my money ($40). I kept asking penwish via aim, and he kept saying :

"like I told you previously I have no rights to that address. Even if it was still at the post office I can't even pick it up. You will have to wait for it. i do not know how long it takes.I would do something if I could do anything."

Penwish says that I sent to the wrong address, and " We have had no issues with anyother buyer even ones that don't speak english. all sent to correct address. we get hundreds of dollars from europe and japan. like I said if you need confirmation that the box is no longer ours contact the post office and ask about the box you sent it to"

I don't know if I trust him, seeing that it shouldn't take over a week for a letter to arrive ( I live in Missouri, which borders Illinois). He could have my money, and just be lying to me. I really do not know right now, and I even asked Zombo for help. Well, do you guys think I should just wait for my money? I don't want to lose $40 over some stupid incident like this. Even if I sent to the wrong address on the website, I still should get my money back.

What other option do you have then to wait? You're not going to get a refund for putting the wrong address when PW specifically stated If you are sending us a check or money order, please contact us for specific instructions.

If the address was expired I think it was there fault for not changing it on the site... Shouldn't they be responsible?
@ Ever, I believe Santa had already had a successful mail in before, why would there be reason to contact again?

I don't see why you want him to refund you then if it is not his fault...
I'm pretty sure plenty of people can vouch for his trustworthiness

@shoeman Well, he did contact again apparently

Well if the address was wrong on the site... you cant blame Santa for sending it there.

Posting here is not of much help either.
I think Penwish have the right to NOT refund you.
Because it was YOUR fault that you wrote the wrong address.
You only have yourself to blame for it.

If PW did tell you the new address, its you not following instrustions.
You can partially blame PW for not updating but it all comes down to, Why did you even write wrong address when PW said its no longer in use?

Now you can only hope PW feels guilty and maybe refund you half, $20 or $20 worth of pens.
Thats all you can wish for i guess.
    Cause its not PW fault.
Its your fault for writing the wrong address.

You will not find anyone that sent it to the wrong address. All orders that are requested I always direct to the right address. Also the address on the payment options is clearly the correct address.

I told you that all mail will be reforwarded to the original sender. i never said it would be there asap; I told you it would take longer. I told you to contact the post office to ask if still had the access to the box. I don't scam people; ask anyone here. Even if I wanted to access to the po box i would not have it anymore. There is a reason I ask people to contact me to place cash/money order orders; the reason is to get all the details correct.

Just give it some time to see if it gets back forwarded mail takes longer than usual. If it still doesn't get there maybe we can work something out.

I have never had anyone send money to the incorrect address. People from over 19 countries have used cash orders and they all followed directions and nothing has ever gone wrong.

i think its PW fault because if the adress is on there site and they new that its expired they should take it off.also if they new it was still on the site they should of warned you.

Penwish has done nothing wrong. He has displayed all contact information correctly, informed you of status, kept in touch of base.

Things in the mail can get jumbled. I've had a package sent back to me after 1.5months of me sending it. Reason why? Couldn't tell you. It happens.

I've done at least 200$ worth of transactions through penwish. I've had no hitches what so ever. Ask just about anyone who's ordered through penwish, it's a reliable store.

All I say is be patient, $40.00 is a lot when your a kid, but I'm willing to take a stab that you may have addressed it wrong.

Either way, sit tight, it may take a bit of time to sort out.
    --------------------------------
    Regarding the refund,

Penwish has no legal-bound required right to refund you. Sending cash is COMPLETELY DISCLOSED AT THE SENDERS RISK. It's no different than sending a christmas card with money.

Let me put it this bluntly, CASH CANNOT BE GUARANTEED. If somebody sent you $50 wanting to buy two KT's from you, and you be honest and say you haven't received the cash(happen to have say +30 on the WL). Them demanding a refund and then posting a topic about the other person's ignorance when they've been in constant contact is simply rude.

These kind of threads don't need to be opened.

    Regards,

    iMatt

Well, have you ever thought that the person using the P.O. box that was previously Penwish's might've taken the money?

i agree with this statement, although i, personally, have not had problems with cash orders yet.
I think the best thing to do in this case is to sit tight and wait. what else can you do, bug the post office?

i have never done money order before, but i think the person will not be able to, b/c on the money order you need to write down the name of the payee.

but it is still possible that the person just looked at the letter and never returned it
