Basically, its a search engine for pen/pencils so its easier to search.
Say i want a double sided, short, heavy pen and im a noob, ill just use the pen search tool
eg. of what to put in pen search tool thing
    Enter pen name(name)
    pen/pencil
    pen size in cm (/=)(#)
    weight (/=)(#)
    one/two sided
    writable yes/no
    etc...

Personally, i think it would help alot of begginers like me find pen/pencil effectively and quickly

the wiki has the ability to sort out pens by style, pens used, etc.
We need some people to update it and put in a few more sub-categories, then i think it would for what you're suggesting smile.gif

The "What can I do with these pens" seem more reasonable, majority of newcomers aren't willing to start spending money off the bat to buy pens to make a good beginner mod. IE HGG for the MX.

    ... Unless it's bictory xD

yes, wiki isnt updated and i think this tool will be more useful and quicker that reading all of 37 pages of "what can i do with these pens" or even using the search bar

@ktk, maybe not newcomer, but everyone has/will hit the stage where u want a mod, and an easy way to find the perfect one for you wink.gif

    good idea, hard to implement,

because it means every single mod will need to be submitted to this new tool with the correct info

if ppl are too lazy to update the wiki, i doubt they'll try to update this

i dont mind helping, and you can make one in upsb forum, not in wiki

it's a good idea, and definitely doable. all u would have to do is just tag each pen with its characteristics like rsvp mx: single sided, pen, about 20 cm (am i right?)

it's cool that you are volunteering and all, but somehow I highly doubt you'd be interested in maintaining it long term - I would know, I got lazy of running the ladder after only a few weeks.
This isn't something to be taken lightly, and requires a lot of responsibility.
Not only will you have to import all the existing mods, but you will have to actively maintain the database, approving the actual mods and moderating the (no offense) useless, 5 second mods.

long story short, find me a moderator.

Couldn't there be a couple of moderators working on the pen search function, instead of just one?

if we can't even find one how do you expect us to find multiple moderators?

Well, I was just thinking of a idea to lessen the workload, but I guess that isn't the main problem here.

    The problem is the workload.
this would take an immense out of time, especially considering the fact of how small and mostly useless of a thing it is.
Time could be much much more efficiently spent on other ideas.

I can do it. The mod database was my original research project. I'm home on back-injury so I have time.

Now that I finished my Dynamic Mod, I'm open to anything really.

    I'm game if your willing.
