I have just started spinning about a month ago, and have been using an RSVP V1 since day one. I have been able to get the fundamentals with it, but I have noticed that its weighting is not great for getting the most fluid spins. I was wondering if anyone had any mods that are fairly simple to make and give good balance. I have looked all over, but it is hard to sort through the hundreds of possible mods out there. I am in the US, so pens that I can get around here would be nice.

um... beginner mod section has lots of pens better than rsvp v1 (not saying that it is bad)
and those pens aren't really only for beginners.
It's just some mods that are easy to make and easily accessible so that a new starting pen spinner can acquire them.
Something that is easier to do tricks with.

    but anyways,
it seems that you are just looking for some recommendations of mods

Um you didn't really give a great amount of information on what exactly you are looking for, since as you said, there are a lot of mods to look through.
Really the only way to find what you want to spin is to make/buy/trade pens yourself and spin them.

Look at the thread on each pen, see the pic, see the stats, see the cost and materials to see if you can afford/make them, and look at following posts to see what others have to say about it.

I know there are a lot of different mods out there but look through and see which one you want.
There are popular mods around and you can kind of look for those in here:
