EDIT: I changed the title from "webcam question" to Quick Webcam Questions. If the mods want to change it back, please go ahead.

I'm not sure if this was to be made into a new thread, but I did it anyways... it would help if there was a "Quick Webcam Questions" thread like the "Quick Modification Questions" thread in the modifications section.

but yeah. is 30 frames per second decent enough to film with?

so wait, do most webcams come with 30 fps, or is it generally more nowadays?

I think 30 FPS is standard for webcams, you can find ones that do more though.

Just make sure it is recording at 30FPS e.g have proper lighting, keep exposure down etc.

so I'm guessing lots of light won't decrease the fps?
(sorry about all the question, I'm completely new to webcams...)

would be a good idea.or else for every question everyone creates a thread.

wish a mod would look at this thread and approve... but ANYWAYS, back to webcams.

it looks like a pretty basic webcam to me. ...wait, it can only record 15 fps? ...never mind, it's not worth it then. 30fps isn't very smooth either...

make sure you are using enough lighting, and find where you can turn down the exposure, this will make it look dark so turn up gain to balance it out. If that still doesn't work try downloading sony vegas and use its capture feature, sony vegas works best for me.

okay, so the video recording program for the webcam recorded in .avi format. after doing some editing in Windows Movie Maker, I saved the new video in .wmv format. when I tried viewing it, it was all inverted colors and everything. like everything was green and bluish. but when I saved the video in .avi format instead of .wmv, it turned out fine. is that supposed to happen?
