Board Comments / UPSB going down

why?

    so apparently

    my box only has 1tb of bandwidth now

    the provider that my provider got the servers from apparently equip all their boxes with 1tb, and I haven't had a problem because they hadn't been monitoring it untill now

    ..............

    fucking raging now

    so basically they unplugged the box because I went over the traffic limit, even though my package clearly states that I have 2tb of traffic.
    anyways, I have tomorrow morning to either get this sorted out with my provider or find a new one.
    life's great.

    Just a question, but would it be better in this case to start a UPSB v.4 instead of turning back all the way to June?

    It's up to the mods, I'd be okay with it though. Considering the server problems at the moment, creating a whole new one might be harder.

    I don't see how making a new UPSB would be better.

    1. We still don't have any of the data between june and now, and creating a new board won't change that. Any tutorials, announcements, teams, etc. that were made in that time frame would have to be recreated either way.

    2. We don't have the human power to do so. Rebuilding the board would not only require a lot of time from the moderators, but also a lot of time and work from a system administrator (someone with technical expertise to install scripts, move files across servers, setup needed cron jobs, etc.) Neither xshadowfire nor I have the time to do that right now.

    While the idea of starting new is always refreshing...it's better suited when we have a good reason for it (like new features that the current system doesn't support). Right now our need is to get a stable server and recover what we can.

    can we get feedbak from past trades?
    like if we dont have the feedbak but we have confirmation things that they occured from the post office?
    i have the signed things that i sent them and r recieved
    and a few packages from other peope still

    its not like upsb is gonna check your receipts or anything...
    not that you should go rogue and get +50 feedback but just get the ones you had if you can remember
