I was just tooling around my local art supply store (Pearl) and found these awesome markers. The were sold individually at $1.55 and in packs that were more expensive and they spin quite well.

There are all the colors incase anyone is wondering. All the bodies were black, just the caps varied in color. (the pic is HUGE so I didnt want to post it right in here)

This is the best pic I could find with a close up of the caps (I cannot find my camera biggrin.gif )

They are slightly heavier than an rsvp (with ink still inside) and with ink removed they are slightly heavier than an empty comssa.

I haven't messed with them much, other than double capping them and adding some anyball grip rings to the ends. I'm pretty new to pen spinning, but i like this pen/marker very much so far.. laugh.gif

I thought that the name Marvy sounded familiar. That company makes the "Uchida Leplume II", which is quite similar. Le Plumes are double-sided. The Leplume II mod is done like a Tombow mod.

How much was the full pack in your art store?

I believe the full pack of around 18 or 20 markers was around $35.00, so one would be saving money if buying them in bulk there. happy.gif

If you take a look on amazon.com they are called Marvy Uchida Brush Marker Sets and they cost $20.29 for 12 pens. The Leplume II markers have different caps, it seems like they have a ridge at the pen end of them; these markers have no ridge, flowing smoothly to the barrel.

Your best bet would be to look at any big art supply store because where I went they had them for individual sale in TONS of different colors, so you can get matching caps if you would like. biggrin.gif

    Very cool.
I'll have to look around some local art stores for them. Any idea how compare to other well-known marker pens in length/weight (compared to say...Dong-A Computer Sign Pens or Tombow ABT markers)?

Depending on the size, they may be useful as semi-substitutes for harder to get/more expensive markers.

Compared to a Dong-A Computer Sign Pen:
    - Comssa = 15 3/4 cm long
    - Marvy = 17 1/4 cm long

    - The Marvy Marker's body is about as thick as the thickest part of the Dong-A Computer Sign Pen Cap

    - Marvy Marker's Cap is about 1/4 cm longer than the Dong-A Computer Sign Pen

    - I don;t have a scale on hand at the moment, but one marvy marker feels about the same weight as a double capped rsvp (I don't know if this will help at all biggrin.gif )

[all these measurements are from single capped, "from the package" pens]

picked these up in tokyo, 105 yen

im pretty sure you could make a pseudo kt out of this, although it would be painfully long.

You could try cutting the back of the marker body so that it is the same length when double-capped.

That marvy doubler looks pretty nice. I'm sure you could make a double cap mod with the larger caps and as sketching said, shortening the barrel wouldn't be to difficult to make it shorter if its already a little long happy.gif

EDIT: The marvy Double looks exactly like a Marvy LePlumeII.....
