Think about it. Any given insert takes at least an hour if not longer. The minimum wage here is $6.25.
$5.00 for a few hours of work really is pretty cheap... -

u r rly sure that normal penspinner will pay for insert? there r tons of free inserts on the web
i think modrod-Chris or penwish or some other company maybe interested but for me this is only a good joke -

I think the prices are great, what will depend on it is how good the work is and do you guarantee it? meaning if your customer isn't happy with the design they don't pay until its right.
I think custom inserts design is a great idea, I would buy a red seamless modrod sized insert fo sho. do you take paypal? -

I think the service is a great deal for those who want a CUSTOM insert.
As someone who has done professional graphics, I wouldn't do anything for less than $25/hour. And that's actually considered cheap. Now, I understand that iMatt is not a professional graphic designer with a lot of experience, and pen spinners aren't loaded with cash, but I still think the price is really cheap.
I mean, we're not talking about an insert that everyone is using, but something made for yourself. The uniqueness of the insert pays for itself.
I think people are just too used to getting free stuff. I mean, I love free stuff, but the problem with free things (specially when it comes to graphics) is that...if it's free...it's likely that a hundred other people are using the exact same. I mean, if you don't mind using the same insert as everyone else, then that's fine. But if you want something unique made for you, then I think this is a great deal. -

Sometimes I see an insert and print out cause it looks good but when I actually put it in a pen i dont like it. And sometimes vice-versa, would you be able to print a few out and just show them in an rsvp or something? So we can get a feel for what theyd look like in a pen?

Can you make custom graphics of things non PS related? Also, if I give you a sketch of a design, can you photoshop it for me, rather than have me explain what I want?

Yes I can. But for bigger pieces I'm not sure on pricing, things like doing a 8.5 x 11 page graphic is going to take more time to do as such. But I think I can work something out.

Wow
I'm really impressed. Someone which dares to sell his inserts. Why not ? There exists many sites of graphics which proposes the same services. However I doubt many people would like to pay for a insert... And question of personalization, people never retained themselves to ask for a personal insert even when it was free.
I won't hide I'm much motivated when there is money in exchange but that implies also an obligation to return an end product. Remain to see if this work is valid.
Good luck ! -

I'm guessing those of you who say the prices are unreasonable have never tried making an insert/graphic design from scratch. It's not as simple as clicking a few buttons...it takes hours at the least. Especially for those who request sigs/inserts in Show of Your Inserts, but never get them fulfilled, this would be a great idea for them, although it depends on if they're willing to pay money for them.

I totally understand what FrozenIce is trying to say, and iMatt as well.
These prices are reasonable, yeah. But it took me time to actually think about WHY they were reasonable.
At first glance, (i'm assuming) most people's reactions were "FUCKING A. RIP."
Don't forget, there IS labor involved, and at 6.25 (ouch), that's a good deal.
If I had the money, Id buy from iMatt. Quality designs at a reasonable price -

Also note that Imatt's inserts are seamless which takes quite a bit longer and has a nicer spinning effect!

Prices seem all right. I guess after you factor in vector graphic pack prices and other expenses, if you were to completely create every aspect of the graphic legitably, it comes pretty cheap. Many design services wouldn't have the expertise of a pen spinner to figure out dimension of a certain pen online anyway.
Shame to envy, I fail to see how your points are valid.
