Off-topic / Microwave screws up wifi?

Does anyone know why

    Ok I was on my iPod in the kitchen and I was on upsb. And then I put popcorn into the microwave and turned it on. Then when I tried to go to a different page it wouldn't load but when i turned off my microwave it goes back to normal . Anyone no why?

    its possible the microwave operates at the same frequency as your wireless router... i dont know if thats actually true though.
