General Discussion / Weight vs. Momentum

Ok this has bugged me for the longest time and i just want to point out my opinion on the matter.

There are 2 words being thrown around to explain how a pen feels when spun, weight and momentum. for insance, people will say that a KT is really heavy when in reality, it is 16 grams or so. the only reason people say its heavy is because all the weight is on the ends. if you kept the same pen to be 16 grams but put all the weight in the middle, it would not feel so heavy because the momentum is lost.

i propose that in statistics for pens we separate the 2 words and give the weight of the pen in total, and then the momentum of the pen in relativity to other known pens.

its just to lessen the confusion and to hopefully stop the irritating misueses of the words...

    agree? disagree? discuss...

    totally agree guitrum.

think of center weight, VS weight at ends.

agreed, but the problem is, that the 'measurement' of momentum could get pretty subjective/vague
like the "mxweight is measurable in a discrete measurement (ie. grams)

maybe spilt it further into barrel weight and end weight?
for dc mods it's easy, jsut take the cap off
but trouble for single sided mods.

sure but i think there is never a confusion because nobody care about weight for weight alone, when ppl ask what the weight is, they want to know it because they want to know what is the momentum.

nobody makes heavy pens with all the weight in the center because those pens are terrible for spinning, so heavy pens usually mean higher momentum because modders always design it like that

its like common ppl care about weight when they really mean mass. if ppl wanted to be technically correct they would have to say "whats your weight using earth's gravity" or "what's your mass" but not simply "what's your weight" because you can then say anything if you dont have to specify the place where your weight is taken. but both are equivalent in everyday use because no commoner live outside of earth.

in ps its the same thing, when they say "is it heavy" it means "does it have good momentum", because nobody cares about having weight in the middle of the pen.

It's not just center weight vs. end weight. It's really the source of the weight.
For instance: An Mx2 with 3 HGG tips in the front feels different with a signo tip even though the weights are similar and relatively placed.
