Ok guys, it's been a while.
I have a question for you all, which style of communism do you prefer? Maoism or Marxism?
Maoism and Marxism both are named after the people who defined the styles. Maoism is the belief that the revolution lies in the hands of the peasants, and agriculture is the key to a prosperous country. Marxism is the same, except Karl Marx believed that the factory worker would be the driving force.
Obviously, there's a lot more to the debate then this, but it can be further defined as the thread progresses.
So, Marxism, or Maoism? -

That may be so, but we can still hope for the return of active members by giving them something to do. -

So, what's your opinion, Pillars?

Basically the only difference is that the driving force is factory workers as opposed to agricultural workers?

There's also a difference in economic style. Maoism is more die-hard socialism, with well established collectives, where grain output is decided by state tax collectors.
EDIT:
think USSR vs. CCP, this should help -

Obviously I would side with the USSR =D
Communism, on paper, is the perfect form of government, as long as the people are perfect, which won't happen which is why it failed. -

Quite true. It also requires the entire world being communistic, to ensure limitless goods and no outside influence

Irony. Within Maoism, there was the great leap forward. The great leap forward caused the greatest famine in history.
