Advanced Tricks / Handaround? Wristaround?

I haven't seen anyone do a wristaround (I've heard bonkura did it?), although I've seen one video of a handaround. Is it too hard to learn? A handaround/wristaround looks pretty flashy imo. I've figured out how to do the handaround -- just can't do it yet, but how does a wrist around work?

    Thanks a bunch.

wrist around = pinkybak ~> FL TA Rev.. i think. either way it looks the same. it's the last combo bonkura does in his second solo.

That doesn't sound like a wristaround, but I'll give it a look. Thanks.

handaround is done frequently, I think it's also called palmaround, bojo does it all the time.

wristaround is difficult to pull off, I don't think I've seen any video of it.

I imagine that wristaround would be a fingerless around that starts on the inside of the wrist (palm-side) or the outside (back side), goes around the wrist, and is "caught" by being balanced on the same side that it started on. You could do variations that are pushed and caught in various places (the palm, back of the hand, finger slots) but the root trick would be the hardest to perform.

Yeah, I've heard it called palm wrap as well. Wristaround would probably be quite hard and may look awkward in a combo unless you could do it fast. Definitely possible though.

The handaround I've seen is like an extended TA, except instead of just going around the index, it goes around your hand with some hand motion involved. Are there others?

I thinke Ive heard once in the GPC forum that theres an official definition of the HandAround but not of the WristAround...
Is this true? And is there a way to ask the UPSB naming comitee?

    Imo the tricks are:

    - HandAround = PinkyIndexBak ~ Fl TA Rev (the same hybrid as Bak To Fl TA Rev, but starting with a PinkyBak)
    - HandAround Rev = TA ~ PinkyIndexBak Rev (the same hybrid as TA Ext, but travelling behind the Pinky)
    - WristAround = Twisted PinkyBak ???
    - WristAround Rev = Twisted PinkyBak Rev ???

Correct me if Im wrong plz.

If it was me I'd switch the handarounds, since now the normal one is going like a reverse around and vice versa... oh, and It'll be better to add a fl ta rev in the beginning of the hand around reverse (Fl TA Rev -> PinkyIndexBak ~ Fl TA Rev or w/e...) just a thought~
about the wrist arounds, no clue dunno.gif

    Hand Around = PTBA, period.
Hand Around Rev = PTBA Reverse.

@shadow: I'm sure I saw it in some battle thread few months ago. The spinner did it by fluke and I also remember Zombo commented on it.

    ok, vid spam time

    hand arounds:

    Spoiler:

i do something like it at like 13 seconds, but it should go over 2 back into palm

perhaps not quite as it misses out thumb... though it can be changed to go around thumb... ipba rev > bak rev

pinkybak ~> fl ta rev... probly the most common

    wrist arounds:

    Spoiler:
these are more... varied... with style

ive seen some1 do one like the 1st hand around i showed

that one is in the other direction

then theres some "wrist arounds" that just come out of the palm, spin outside pinky and get caught back in palm... i dnt think they're wrist arounds...

    Nice stuff Pen Ninja!

Will you be using these in your future combos?

This is what I think it should be:

Handaround: Second Video of Pen Ninja
Wristaround: Pen Ninja's video but reversed (That was a Reverse WristAround).

And IMO a PalmAround should exist that goes around the palm. I dont have a cam now so.. explanation:
    PalmAround:
    - Direction : Palm down, Fist Closed.
    - Position: Near the end - Above the COP.
    - Release: Tilt your hand a little. The pen should go over your index finger. Now: Keep fingers open (stretched) and next to each other (no gaps in between). This will make it go around all your fingers. Once it lands on the other side of your hand (away from thumb), you close your fist over the pen.

Not so 'understandable' so I'll post a vid later.

how many rotations is a handaround?

It kind a weird but I think I learned reverse handaround before handaround. I do it like doin a middlebakaround or ringbakaround. Same motion as middlebakaround, bak and ringbakaround except for I hold at the thump flap and it goes around my four fingers and it lands wear i started. Please tell me if it is a reverse handaround.

That's correct. A handaround rev is actually easier than a handaround normal. Handarounds are basically what peem does all the time.
