    Why are grades calculated as A = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1, and not A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, D = 4?

    Just wondering since its somewhat related, why does it skip from D to F for grades, and leave out E?

    my guess is E generally stands for Excellence and F stands for Fail

    i think some ppl associate higher numbers with better things in some cases.

    Lol over here..

    For O-levels,

    A= 1-2, B= 3-4, C= 5-6, D= 7, E= 8, F= 9

    A - C has 2 numbers each depending on how well you do.

    That means the lower or final score the better.

    But for A-levels,

    we get 20 points for A and it slowly decreases until like 2-5 points for a U. i don't know the exact number of points for each grade though, only that you get 20 points for A so the higher the better.

    Oh, and for A-levels, we have A B C D E S U

    S stands for sub-pass, meaning to say you failed by abit. Depending on the weightage of the subject, sub-pass can be considered a pass or a fail.

    U basically stands for Ungraded, meaning you failed, badly, and you suck, because they don't even have a grade for your score.. which ironically is U.

    I've always wanted there to be an E grade. If you can have a "Fail" grade why not have an "Epic Fail" grade?

    cuz that would be an EF. which is just pronounced as F. So same difference. huh.gif
