Board Comments / Donators Group

There should be a special group for the people who have supported the board to a notable degree. There isn't really any tangible benefit right now, other than the Friends of UPSB sticky, but we all know nobody reads those.
I say for people who have donated a considerable amount of money (to be determined by the mods, but something like 50 or 75 dollars or something), they should be a special group, and on other boards I've seen these groups have Yellow names.
I think this is a good way to show appreciation, and give incentive to donate. -

hmm ok, i definitely don't see any harm in giving them a yellow name though, i'm always jealous of people with colored names, i want a lazy way to get one without having to work to become a mod xD

but concrete discussion on what's actually feasible, that's amongst the staff
colored name for donator group thats very likely, that's something we can do, some other stuff maybe we can't, but then again we gotta think about integrity and security of the board, cuz so far only mods are colored names, if some ppl are not aware that donators have colored names, they could abuse and impersonate moderators, maybe even steal passwords, theres a lot of think about. -

Eh, it's a good point, but really, would a "Friend of the Board", or someone who's donated a considerable amount of money to the board do that? I mean it's possible, but certainly not likely.
Plus the mods around here are pretty damn good, i'm sure anyone who tried that would get banhammered hard.
btw, are former research directors staff? xD

But won't putting them in a "Donators" group solve this problem? I think even the not quite brightest people could figure that they aren't mods if their group is donators and not mods~ -

Maybe you could include a section on admin.mods.betas.donators and their colors in the Beginners PM Then they'd know whos who and wont get fooled? I know theres still a chance someone will try to steal a password, but its just a suggestion

big user's/name plate is needed!! could be, "DONATORS, V.I.P, FEATURED MEMBERS, or somthing ^^"
