Board Comments / Message ordering for shoutbox

For the longest time, the shoutbox has always functioned with new messages appearing at the top.
I have now changed temporarily it to appear at the bottom, so that you guys can feel what it's like.Current mode: Top
Now you should vote to see what we should keep permanently.
vote ends in 1 week or till i see overwhelming majority, i will randomly change ordering to let you guys compare -

I think it needs to be the way it was before. Here's my reason:
The shoutbox is at the top of the page. When I put my mouse over the shoutbox, it assumes scrolling priority. So when I scroll up quickly to get to the shoutbox, I will often hit the shoutbox and it will begin to scroll up. With the old orientation, this would take me to the newest shout. Now it's just a nuisance. Likewise, when scrolling the shoutbox down to see the newest shout, upon hitting the bottom, the screen will begin to scroll down, often overshooting the shoutbox. Before, I would already be at the top of the page, so it wouldn't matter. -

exactly my argument... i go to scroll up the page and then scroll up the shout box to see the latest posts. but not now. -

I like the new way because if you are away from the shoutbox for a bit you just have to read in the natural way English is read to catch up. I find it annoying reading conversations in reverse chronological order or reading a line then going up.

you guys either have huge shoutbox size or tiny resolution
i never keep my mouse high enough on the screen when scrolling that it would hit the shoutbox, not even close. -

Right. When you come back to SB you'll spend perhaps 1 minute tops reading the latest posts instead of constantly reading up while you are watching it. You'd be reading conversations in reverse.

I like the old one cos i'm more used to it. When i first joined the sb was little weird but then i got used to it. Changing now would mean many of us would have to readjust.

I like old style more. The only thing I don't like about it that
emote makes no sense in old style sb.
voted to be old style anyway. emote isn't worth it

Personally I am used to the way it is atm. It might be a bit strange if it got reajjusted, however saying that I find it easy enough to flick between upsb shoutbox and msn so it probably wouldnt be to confusing... I voted old

hmmm, the overshooting doesn't happen to me
