Why do people make other mods than just showing off and because they spin different or they're heavier and stuff?

I do not know if there is a topic on this... so I don't know if this will get closed or not... yeah.

all pens are different and people like certain ones more then others. also some look nicer when spun then others. and its also nice to have a collection of different pens depending on wut kind of mod you want to spin at that time......................isnt this kinda obvious

to some extent, pen modding is trendy, as new mods come in, some will be praised and become fashionable, so you want to switch to it.

Ever since I was a young boy, as young as I care to remember, I have been searching. This would be considered normal behaviour by many, but I was not searching for love, buried treasure or a friend; nor a thing to keep me occupied while my parents indulged in three-week 'business trips'. No! The thing I have been searching for my entire life... is the Perfect Modified Pen.

Indeed this concept seems silly and simple at first, but when one expands his mind he sees not just a pen that is easy to spin, but true beauty and an, as yet, undeveloped art form. The idea of a Perfect pen is one which is thought of by many, but quickly whisked away by logic and reason. This is due to the fact that we cannot see the Perfect pen, we cannot imagine it, see it, hear it, taste it or touch it. We can only feel it. It is this undeniable and important, yet subtle and easily missed, detail that has denied man his right to a thing with ultimate Power. The Perfect Modified Pen.

I began my search by experimentation. I tried everything there was to try; mixing certain pens with others, moving parts to a different place, trying parts that were not even from a pen. I made sure to document all of my findings along the way as I knew that the search for a Perfect Modifed Pen may never come to an end, especially not in my lifetime. Through all of my experience with modifying pens I came upon great knowledge with which I have used only for good. This fact, although very generous, has not at all helped in my personal satisfaction, as I feel only part of the way towards my ultimate goal.

The joint venture of Pen Modders in finding this Ultimate Pen Mod is something that is unwritten but is so important to all of us. We all contribute to a giant pool of knowledge so that one day a man will swim through and combine what we have learnt to make something to much better. It is our belief that with a larger base from which to pull knowledge from, a genius will one day be able to create the ever-so evasive Perfect Pen Mod.

It's Perfection is so because it is has the one characteristic that no other modified pen can achieve; its whole is greater than the sum of its parts. This unexplained phenomenon will certainly be what makes it the diamond in the rough and is what all great pen modders of our day have been trying to reach.

This is the reason that we keep on creating new pen mods, even if there are already existing pen mods that are better. It is goal to contribute as much as possible to the art of pen modding so that one day, maybe, by some small chance, a miracle will occur. The Perfect Modified Pen will be realised.

Because everyones different and needs different pens for other tricks or the pen may just appeal to them!

ZOMG I hate myself for this very reason<_<

I can't say I feel the same as Tim or that I even read his long post but my reason for always wanting new mods is that I guess I'm kind of insatiable. I would get one or two new mods and a week later, I'd be looking for some more. Recently I got a new KT and Buster and now I've been looking for some newer ones (my excuse is that I spin too much heavy stuff tongue.gif)
I also get tired/bored of pens very easily. Today all I spun was KT and now I'm sick of it. But just this morning, I was like...oohh today is KT day. I mean it's not like I'm tired of it for life, I just don't want to spin it for the rest of the day.

Also, I always think new mods are better than old mods. Every time I make a new mod, unless it's pure crap, I always try to spin it as much as possible. I guess the magic wears off quickly..

    Well I wish I wasn't this way. angry.gif
