    Hello UPSB (:
So after almost a month of waiting, I was finally given permission to make a pen spinning club at Richmond Secondary.
I plan on starting it shortly after the winter break (once a week during lunch) to help promote psing at my school since there was a lot of interest.
However, the problem is not if there wouldn't be enough people going since I already have a few guaranteed members...
I am more worried that there could be more people than I could handle.
There is no guarantee that that would happen and it most likely won't, but I would like to take precautions beforehand so things don't become a disaster. ^^'

I wanted to ask for a few ideas of what I could do to keep it more organized, any resources I would need, activities that could be done (other than teaching ps), and things like that.
Basically I am asking for any general information or tips I could use to make it more successful.

Right now my only plans are to try to find one or two people to help me organize it so I won't have to do everything myself. But this is really all I have thought out so far, so I really need some ideas!

    Thanks. ^^

well for a club to go well you have to be at a level where you can help everyone.

if the purpose of the club is to promote penspinning then it's fine the way it is, you don't really have to worry about too much in terms of order. if it's to help people learn then you have a problem. i would recommend a core staff behind the club who already have a general knowledge of pen spinning itself and know enough tricks which you would want to incorporate.

if the club is successful you could go for things like going to bigger gatherings with more experienced psers there. also at one point making a video would encourage the growth of the club.

other than that, just keep a paper having the clear purpose, statistics of the group, plans, etc. with that you should be fine.

I plan on teaching but I am not that great at ps. However.. I have not seen one pser at my school surprisingly, so I think that will be ok for now.
The staff thing is also a problem, since like I said, there aren't any psers other than me right now. @__@
I will just try my best to run it. ^^
I can get my friends to help I guess since I have taught them a few tricks already.
Thanks for the advice. I will try some demos and videos as well although gatherings for this upcoming year are probably out of the question. ^^

    Don't worry ^^'
My school has an ib program so a lot of crazy people come here... everyone is freaking 95% average in my grade...
all geeky and nerdy kids. wink.gif

It's amazing how many people want to learn ps at this school. <3
Besides, for ib we need to initiate some sort of club or event. This will fulfill that requirement for me. ^^
    It is worth it.

Really? I wish I had spares. Dx
What school do you go to?

Btw, does anyone have any ideas for promotion to bring in people?

We're not allowed to promote clubs on the P.A. anymore since it used up too much time during announcements.
But I may be able to put a promo on our school TVs.. since every class has one, but I am not sure what I would do for that.

My only other idea would be to walk around psing... which seems really ineffective since it just seems strange and I have clubs to go to most other days.. dunno.gif

    Thanks. ^^
