UPSB v3

General Discussion / Penspinning shirts

a poll to judge interest

  1. Awesome
    Date: Sat, Dec 26 2009 06:08:01

Not an official UPSB shirt, but rather a shirt with a design/text that is related to penspinning. To cover the costs of production and shipping, they will most likely be priced at 15 USD.

If there is no interest at all I won't bother coming up with a design.

If you are interested post the most you would be willing to pay, provided the design is decent/one you like.

Sounds like a really cool idea~
Just one thing- I do think the design should appeal to non spinners at some level, since, well, let's face it, pen spinning shirts can draw quite a lot of negative comments from non spinners ("nerd", "no life"... you know what I mean).
so yeah, you might say we should be proud of the fact that we spin and ignore those, but I think that if we could create a shirt that spinners will want to wear, and non spinners will also think is cool, it'll be the best thing evur.

    agreed.
it also depends on how good it looks. if it looks bad then i will probably not be willing to pay $15, maybe $10. but that just depends on the design that is provided.

Hmm well it doesn't have to be anything obvious either if that's what people want. For example, I have a penspinning shirt that just says "UCPSB" and has the logo on it. Most people don't know what it is, but people who know me well recognize it.

We couldn't do UPSB or anything for technical reasons, but something similar would be nice i think

color has to be black plz ^^

  7. SargTeX
    Date: Sat, Dec 26 2009 23:02:27

For technical reasons? Do you mean copyright?

I agree with Resonance's opinion... Maybe something much graphically will be nice, something that other Non-Spinners will like, too- and do not know the reasons of.

I'd buy a t-shirt if it fulfills these requirements (voted for "yes").

    i voted yes.

But yes, i think it all comes down to the designs so maybe you could do up some and post them here?

    I've seen the UCPSB one.

I think $15 for that is kinda high. i wouldn't mind if it was 12-13.

PDS has their shirts for $14. i don't mind paying 14 for their design, though I'd like something simple like the UCPSB one.

Of course, if the price can't be lowered, i don't mind $15 for a similar design to the UCPSB one.. if it's a comfortable material!

    Yeap.

If it was a complicated design, $15 would be good. I saw the one that GLAND posted here not long ago. Looks awesome. I'd totally pay $15 for the design he shared.

definitly if one has the quote Pari used in one of his vids, and a sick ass design

"Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art." - Leonardo da Vinci\

or a shirt that just says UPSB and has the UPSB logo

but i voted no because 15 is too expensive. i can actually make myself a shirt at a store in peru for 5 dollars, all i have to do is bring a usb with the pic i want in the front and in the back. so i could just bring my ideas and make my own shirt for much cheaper, and itl prob be more profesional wink.gif

    That's in Peru dude.
It'll be about the same after s&h and taxes and crap like that.
I honestly think $15 isn't that bad. I mean $15 for a unique shirt that almost no one is going to have (people you see around in real life) its not bad at all.
And stop being so cheap. You guys probably spent well over $15 for a pen. smile.gif

    What's your point?
Are you going to print out UPSB shirts there and bring it back and sell it for $5?
They're getting the shirts printed in the USA, not Peru.
And Peru is not America, so there is no point in comparing prices.

no i was just saying i wouldnt buy a shirt for so much, i could just make 1 for myself not sell

and also my dad is the CEO of a textile company, he makes shirts for Oakley, Hollister, Am eagle, Abercrombie...and has his own new brand... i alwasy get tens of free shirts and jackets throught the year, and if i really wanted i could make my own design there or get the personal designers design me a shirt, and make it on a Oakley or w/e brand i want shirt. tongue.gif

Haha you're funny. Then don't buy it. Honestly, as I have said before, $15 isn't THAT bad for a unique shirt. It's not like the randomass shirts you buy at thrift stores or basic shirts. And if you have such ability, make one for yourself and be happy ^^ Most people don't have access to printing machines ,so they just buy shirts from stores/online.

Oh, and if you get tons of free stuff throughout the year, why do you want this shirt? Because it's a unique shirt? Well, you should make one yourself for dirt cheap since you have access to printing machines. And get your personal designers to make designs. Wait, I mean your dad's personal designers.

In all seriousness, just make a damn shirt for yourself and stop posting. It is very unlikely that they will sell shirts for dirt cheap like in Peru. Spoiled kid...

ok good for you but the rest of us doesn't care since you can only do that for yourself. unless you can produce and sell cheap t-shirts for the whole community, all you're doing is bragging and pissing everyone off.

$15 is standard price for a music t-shirt so im fine with hthat

I really like the idea of UPSB t-shirts.

What it comes down for me is the materials the shirt and logo are made out of.
And a shirt that is inconspicuous, (not super flashy rainbows and jumping ponies) Yet interesting (aka not just a plain logo) would be nice.

Either way I would still pay 15 dollars for one though. =]

It's an idea, the issue is people will become attached to the ones they like, and they'll "dislike" others, so no matter which we choose people will be upset and not buy because it wasn't the one they wanted.

    We'll discuss it though
