I was just wondering if anyone ever got tired of pen spinning at some point and was almost gonna quit. and what is it that made you keep going and keep practicing tricks?

I did, yes, at some point. Trying to play catch up in the pen spinning world is rather overwhelming -- feels nearly impossible. It's also depressing when you have ugly fingers and you receive a lot of negative feedback -- very ego deflating. But, I still find pen spinning enjoyable, so I never stopped. I just spin less and more casually.

This is the main reason for stopping I would say. I havn't felt the urge to stop but when I see peem, Bonito, Frie@fox, Raimo etc. It's just like whutplz.gif . Ohwell, I still spin and just cant stop xD

I think we all have times (besides a few) where we need to take some time to cool.gif off =P. Like take a couple months leave.
I agree that it's REALLY hard to catch up in the penspinning world, with the new mods etc. wink.gif But we all come back sooner or later... there's jsut somethinga bout penspinning. =]

the topic is about actual pen spinning, not ps-board-posting

Haha thanks Zombo, another insightful comment.

The point being, I was bored enough with PSing at the time that "I didn't have the motivation to get accustomed to a new board" even though they're pretty much the same.

Easy ways to get interested again:
    Start learning power tricks.
    Learn left handed
    copy some famous combos
    Watch newest collabs (japen 5th)
Always think while spinning (eg. what other trick could I do with this momentum)

for me it helps to copy other combos. doesn really matter what kind of combo you copy if its hard and creative or just an easy tech combo. i just copy a combo that appeals to me. and after breaking the combo down and watching it a couple of times i´m back in the right mood and start spinning again. this has always helped me

Bored as in uninterested? - impossible. not with all the tricks and their variations for both hands.
Bored as in pissed off? - DEFINITELY. Some tricks take forever to master... bangHead.gif

Uninterested for me.And some weird things happened to my fingers when i tried inverse reverse sonic (near end of pen)palm facing downwards. My middle finger sort of went into doble jointness state and it hurts.Feels awkward. Then if i try to get back to normal fingers, the pen will definately drop.I think i stretched my fingers too much to be Bonkura. sad.gif

PS:Believe it or not,My middle, ring and pinkie fingers were trained to be double jointed.Only my thumb and index are borned with.I once acheived that when i was in this very very cold room and my hands were totallly numb. Then i used all my might and Da-da,double jointness.Note that my fingers hurt when i go into double jointess.

I'm not sure if I could every truly stop spinning, because I have a habit of spinning everything that's in my hands. Even if its not a pen/pencil. I get mad, because I look down and see that I am trying to do ext TA with my Wii remote.

Most I've gone was a week, during a church mission trip away from home.
Never really had a pencil or anything to spin. . .Sledge hammers are too heavy laugh.gif (Now that I think about it a double sided sledge hammer, the new buster cyl haha)

happens to me quite a lot lately to be honest. I just don't have the motivation to work on new stuff, and when I do, it fades away quite fast.
I also don't spin that much in school and such, I mostly spin the RSVPs I write with, and doing basic stuff
