As some of us know, modding and puzzle making is a big part of the cubing community.

these people make custom puzzles, and parts by casting pieces.

this is done by using plastic resin and making molds. it is a complicated process but it is done soooo much by so many people in the cubing community.

it is not that expensive, but its not cheap either.

i was wondering, maybe this could be applied to pen modding. and we could cast the PERFECT pieces or barrels.

i know this would be a hard process, but im sure it could be done to reach another level in pen modding.

this could also work for making different color pen barrels and caps. using different color resins.

but mainly for making perfect and better pieces by adjusting barrel thickness and lenght, and pen cap with and lenght and style and all otherr stuff
example: wider reynolds 094 caps, thicker or same thickness all around comssa barrel etc..

an example of casting cube mod pieces:

    Q&A
-how would you cast caps? ex:CT caps.

to keep the whole of the cap you put a stick the size of the barrel
why would you want to make ct caps when there is all colors? its an example.

and barrels would be way easier.

Another option could be 3D printing pieces biggrin.gif

this is just an idea any comments?

lol so in the Philosophy argument that "it's still a pen if it's made from pen parts", what does this mean?

EDIT: it reminds me of the "Pizza dough" spinning competitions, where they use rubber circles instead of actual dough so they can do more tricks. At what point should they stop fooling themselves and just call it something else?

well... pens are made by companies and factories... think of it as your own factory biggrin.gif lol.. but its still pen parts, just custom made...

another cool thing that could be done is making black/white backcaps (jimnie,g3,etc) instead of them being clear
