    I'm not used to really long heavy mods yet like the one I'm using in this vid, but I'm going to work on getting used to it so I can start learning all those power tricks that seem to be taking over PS at the moment.

    This is just the beginning, but next I'm going to be getting the amount of times I can do them up, then consistency, and smoothness -- in no particular order.

    The combos are pretty much spam except for like maybe 1 trick/mini combo that I'm trying out in it. I think you'd be able to tell which one it is ;D (the only trick that's probably being done well, haha)

    Well, I hope you enjoy =]

    Getting better, JC. I like how you executed them. Also like your aerial sym bak. Very smooth. You should try out spreads, they're rather easy for power tricks.

    any tips on learning the trick where you do a hybrid hand around > index around? thats not what its called but i wanna know how to do it

    Pinky swivel? It really isn't that difficult. Palm up hold the pen to the left of COG flip your hand over grasping the pen swing the right end of the pen "over" your knuckles and just follow that withe a bak rev. There are a couple youtube tutorials, it's actually very easy... (hard getting it smooth) It might be easier to understand if you think rev twisted cobra bite.

    the thing at 00:54 right?

    well, first make sure you can get it into the right position at first-- where you're holding it down by 234 and like..most of the pen is outside
    -try learning it by doing a TA > palm spin > swivel (name of the trick as i know it; this may be wrong too though lol), and then have your hand turn from palm up/palm side --> palm down as you go from the palm spin > swivel /// with this turn, try to sorta 'throw' the pen into the 12 slot (watch the direction that you're 'tossing'/'throwing' it in)

    -xero described it once to me as going into the "busting position" as you try to land it into the 12 slot//and that helped me, so try to think of it that way

    after that, it's fairly easy to link something like a twisted sonic rev 12-23 after that -- or you can go for linking out with a bust or scissor spin or something

    hope that helps

    i've stuck with that for 2 1/2 years now sleep(1).gif and i've been kinda wishing i could do x3942032 bust for a little while now, so i figured it's about time to start

    lol, no worries, i'll be sure to switch back to lighter pens after a little bit--just gotta learn this stuff with a heavy pen first

    Heh, strat. That comment reminded me of the stereotypical grandpa. "Why back in the old days, we didn't have such nonsense. Instead, we had thumbarounds and sonics and no one did no more than a double TA!"

    @JC
    It's not about getting addicted. Rather, your fingers strengthen to adapt to a heavier pen, thus you're just more used to the heavier pen.

    Or its that you like being able to do hard tricks that you feel compelled to use heavier pens.

    Kinda makes me feel like I should go start learning power moves as well XD

    Yeah, I could see that, but it's more that I've seen PS go through several equally absurd phases, and I'm sure this one will pass just as quickly.

    That's true strat but you always have stragglers and I think these new tricks and styles are really nice as well ;]

    Edit: JC that video is actually really helping me get some of these tricks down as well though =].

    Absurd phases? I see it as improvement and change. The times move on.

    @Awesome
    Hard tricks are fun imo. I like learning new tricks. Plus, by learning more tricks, you increase your trick arsenal and theres further room for creativity.

    Ah, you're missing the point. There's nothing wrong with power tricks, I like them fine, and in fact they're pretty impressive. The problem arises when the community becomes obsessed with them, to where you can't be good without them, and people spin heavier and longer pens for the sole purpose of doing them.

    And that's what'll wear off. Maybe not long and heavy pens, people get used to that, but the complete obsession will go away, of that I'm sure.

    Again, I like power tricks, they're just over-hyped

    i agree very much with strat, actually, and i'm new. i think power tricks are incredibly overrated, and the way people learn them nowadays almost disgusts me.
    john chan, on the other hand, has been spinning for a long time and is looking for new things, so i can understand this. this is moderate usage. other new spinners that focus on power alone, whom i'm not going to name, i find ridiculous.

    wow, quite a bit of talk over just a quick 1 min vid i randomly made.. lol

    it seems that it's okay for people who have been spinning for a long time (ex. peem, supawit, vic, etc) to use long heavy pens, but people who are just beginners should not

    when i started, i just used normal unmodded pens, and then i moved to mx's/commssas, then metallic comssas/msxas, etc...and i moved up the weight/length scale
    -i never went as far as kts though, let alone busters
    --looking at all the beginning pen spinners spin busters (and kinda looking down on that myself) and seeing them do 10x busts in less than half a year made me somewhat jealous, i can't even finish with a triple bust and i've been spinning for 2+ years >.> ......and so i figured it's time to move up the scale in terms of pen weight/length, and so i did.. but as i've said before, i'm not gonna stay at using this weight (it makes my fingers hurt =.='' and i like it when my friends dont' tell me, wtf, why is this thing so heavy)

    this thing's just a learning phase for me, but it seems that heavy mods are what makes things easier to learn -- and i dont' exactly see why i should give myself a harder time with learning something when i can just make this thing here and learn it in the amount of time every other spinner who's been spinning for 2 weeks does nowadays

    yeah, there are people who learn power tricks and only learn power tricks with their heavy pens, and yes, i suppose power tricks are overhyped a bit, but i don't see a problem with me learning it-- i've barely touched this area of ps
    -some people only do power tricks, and dont' know anything about anything else--- but i think i've touched upon lots of stuff already, except for power tricks and using heavier mods (perhaps to avoid the negative comments that i might receive like ones seen here and various other places)
    --so it's as shadow said, i guess i'm trying out something new here and just trying to give my combos a bit more oomph

    oh, and btw, i didn't even use airfit tips in that mod, i'm using those sporty ks tips or whatever (changed it to signo+hgg tip now, which is ~1/2 the weight of airfits)

    alright, this is turning out pretty long, so lemme just end this soon.. xD

    @EoL, i'm glad it did =]
    @shonen, thank you smile.gif

    @Strat
    And you're right, strat. That's exactly what it is. A fad. Nothing wrong with going along with the times. I guess there's nothing wrong with hating on it too. As there's always the group of people hating.

    But I know what you mean about the over-hyping thing.

    Yeah I totally get that, I learn 90% of my tricks with a drumstick before trying them on a pen. But I'd never film with a drumstick lol.

    But like you say, it's a learning thing, absolutely nothing wrong with that.

    Fair enough, though I didn't mean to say anything so far as "hating" on anything, I apologize if I did.

    Lol, I mean, I made a video similar (though not nearly as good) just for the hell of it, so it's not like I detest all things powertrick/buster, just not into it as much I guess

    I wasn't directing it at you strat. Just a generality.

    @JC
    Oh and I recommend spreads because they're also very easy to link to. You can easily link them from a spiderspin or a palmspin or an around. Just push the pen into the air a bit and start spreading. Spreads are inherently just bounce tricks done continuously.
