Would it be a good idea for me to get a Buster CYL even though I have only been pen spinning for a month and a half?

    No.

    Why?

because its fucking heavy and u will be reliant on it to do ur tricks which is baad for beginners because u cannot spin realistic pens.

Starting with a Buster CYL is bad for beginners. If you need a BCYL to master basic tricks, then god knows what you'll need to master a [insert peem level trick here].

Buster CYL is too heavy for someone of your experience.

    list of pens for beginners:

    1. pencil
    2. unmodded anything
    3. bictory
    4. rsvp v1
    5. rsvp mx
    6. ballsign, if you really want to
    7. comssa (+tips if you want a tad heavier pen)
    8. other pens
some big number. g3 tip stack mods
some big number +1. dr kt
some big number +lots. everything else in the physical world
some really big number. invisible pen
some really big number +1. buster cyl

as springfield says, its really heavy, and you can't spin regular (realistically weighted) pens

i would say get one, i did when i was a n00b and i don't like it b/c of the weight but it helped get the idea of like say a constant spinning long ass thumbaround or whatever its called.

    buy it!

    no one NEEDS a buster
you can do haituas, bakfalls, multiple busts, and every other power move with, say, a signo tipped comssa

everyone (nearly) WANTS a buster because
you can do haituas, bakfalls, multiple busts, and every other power move more easily than, say, a signo tipped comssa

I know the basics already and i just thought it could help me learn some of the more advanced tricks.

Right now im using a metal comssa and an rsvp mx.

giving a noob a buster is like giving a 14 year old girl a black dick to the ass. they aren't ready yet xD.

I personally don't see anything WRONG with it besides you not learning how to spin very well wink.gif.

It's really up to you and I really wish I had a decent mod in the first few years of my spinning because I would have improved a lot faster dry.gif...

just stick with metal comssa and mx. i'd say when you start thinking about developing your own style you can switch to buster.

I used Buster for awhile, But I didn't have a UPSB account, and I had no idea how heavy it was until I got it, and I just used it because It was like the only thing I had. I can still spin light mods fine though.

    anyway,
beginners honestly dont need a buster.
    its overrated. period.
just start with a pencil, bic, rsvp, whatever

Just because you spin with a buster doesn't mean you're gonna get better.

bictory and r-stic is the best for beginner. safe your buster until you master fundamentals and the rev fundamental

Yea. I do recomend a MX varient as a beginner. That's what I used

if you spin a heavy mod when you first start, you're going to spin really fast... but really choppy. your smoothness isn't going to be good because your fingers haven't built up the dexterity to change the direction of the pen from say a TA to a TA rev without having to grab the pen and reposition it. A light mod gives you smoothness, which is what I like to see in spinners.

Needlepoint mod is a really nice pen for beginners, if they can get the parts. dry.gif

I recamend a medium weight 2 sided mod like waterfall or namae mod for begininers. They are good for leaning but you can still spin light mods. Where as if you spin a buster you can never go back tongue.gif

    aren't waterfalls heavy?

AS A BEGINNER, WHO HAS MASTER MOST FUNDIES, THE BEST BET IS A LIGHT MOD, AN RSVP MX, COMSSA, BICTORY/R-STIC
important info is in big font
also, thai style is over rated

    BUSTER FOR BEGINNERS=BAD

if you start w/ a buster, you'll NEVER be able to spin anything lighter. PLUS your hands get tired after like a minute AND the buster is huge, as in like 3-4 cm longer than my hand

spin a light-medium weight mod first, likea signo tipped mx or a namae mod

move to heavier mods once you have some more experience

and kryder, yeah waterfalls are towards the heavy end of mods

I would start with an MX, a commsa, or a bictori. Those are what I used. A buster is huge and heavy, which is what I use. For a beginner, however, that is different. Once you spin a buster, you can't go back to a light mod.

i used to spin a buster when i was new for like 2 months thats all i spun

but when i learned it would mess up my spinning when i visited UPSB...

2 weeks of spinning nothing but a pencil daily for hours got me spinning an mx just like i did with the buster [just faster]

but i swear it was like learning to spin all over again when i picked that pencil up..

  36. blahblahting
    Date: Sun, Jan 24 2010 00:29:58

kinda ot: but i can do more busts on a waterfall than on a buster :/

and as a beginner, i used a signo tipped comssa, which is what i would recommend, eventhough its really long D:

Sooner or later you'll find out how much easier the buster is to spin. Then you'll never spin the MX and be addicted to the buster. tongue.gif It's a possibility

Would I be considored a beginner if I spun for 4months but have already learned:(With a RSVP MX)
    Basics(Sonic Rise+Fall, Ta+Rev, FingerPass, Infinity,etc)
    Double Charge
    Twisted Sonic Bustx2 (max)
    TA cont x3(max)
    NeoBak
And currently working on BakFall...Just can't get a pinkyaround with a catch. =\
I'm able to connect everything together pretty well, but still a bit sloppy.
    I was thinking about getting a BCYL...Should I?

if you've been spinning an mx, i would recommend a signo tipped comssa with a super pirat barrel. going straight to a buster is WAY too big of a weight difference. esp a SUDDEN one.
