My favourite metal bands are Bloodbath, Necrophagist, Dark Tranquillity, Dream Theater and Symphony X. I am also a fan of chinese, japanese and korean pop, rock and rap music.

i only talk when i have something to say, i sometimes read what happens but i never stay for an extended period of time, i am always doing something else and switching back and forth. one moment i may be talking, the next im somewhere else. i also find it difficult to have a conversation on the chatbox because theres just a single channel. im better at keeping conversations in the IRC chat because when you talk to someone it highlights the taskbar.
its a pretty good album, not the best, that would be the odyssey or divine wings of tragedy

rap music: I listen to some japanese artists like Zeebra and some chinese like MC HotDog. That's about it, it's OK. Battles are cool though.

english: fluent r/w -> most used
french: fluent r/w -> my best language, because of natural accent
chinese: fluent r, write is more troublesome because i never write in chinese in real-life but online writing is not a problem because its assisted lol
i try to play board games once a week with friends, my father likes dexterity games will sometimesforceinvite me to play
i don't know, when i lose interest in PS completely for good. There have been times where I stopped visiting UPSB completely due to lack of interest or time, so it's not uncommon.
DMC is one of the greatest manga. I think this is one of the rare mangas where anime is better because it involves music.
these days not so much, i got a huge stack of animes to watch. manga i find easier to get into so i read them
yes i think as typical of chinese families. the values are different from occidentals.

chopin and alkan are fun to play, but not necessarily my favourite music
in classical, impressionist pieces by ravel and debussy are always fun to play. Scriabin and Rachmaninov also.
in contemporary, final fantasy pieces

I do not watch videos on a regular basis, and I only tend to watch stuff that raise the limits of PS.
-> The Troposphere 1st and 2nd Promo videos were real eye-openers for me, no one could match nhk_9 talent, on a 3000f no less.
-> New Pen Spinning Trick-Concepts by Le0n was awesome, lots of neat ideas.
-> Evolution by Phya, another eye-opener
-> pyralux 1st was amazing, totally fresh style at the time.

Doubtful, current trends indicate that large subcommunities in UPSB tend to make their own community: this is what happened to Swespin, GPC and FPSB. North American mentality is more focused on social activities than competition and training like in Asia.

also it's pretty interesting how you're into both death metal and classical music. is there any similarities between the two? (cuz they both kinda seem really different) but maybe it's something to do with the structure, or simply just because you like it? i like classical music, but i've never really understood death metal...

hmm the similarity between death metal and classical music is very thin, power metal or prog would be much closer to classical. there is a brand of death metal called progressive death metal, which focuses more on technicality and virtuosity, which are also sought after in classical music.
the reason why I like metal is because you need to diversify your music. certain music focus on different feelings/emotions. you need to take the best of everything. whats the best for anger/violence/brutality? well... it's death metal.
how you must appreciate death metal is to listen to pouding guitars and the drums. when its good it feels brutal, you just gotta abide to the rhythm and headbang. the voice is just another layer of brutality; the lyrics dont matter, the voice is used as an instrument. death metal just has so sick riffs that sound good. well for brutal death anyway. for melodic death, it relies a lot on melodies and catchy hooks. so its a lot like pop music in that regards.
