To do it, you do the sonic half way.
and when its behind your hand hold by the sides of your two fingers, 1 and 3
then hide the pen behind your middle finger and hand
assuming you did an isonic 23-12

Theres is also a 2 finger isonic variation, props for Eriror for doing it.
Same thing except you over lap 2 fingers and keep the pen behind 2 on top of 3.

So technically iSonic is just hiding the pen behind your fingers

    Invisible

Look at the iSonic in Eriror's battle against Bonkura, he only uses two fingers.

Any suggestions on how to perform this variation?

I knew that, but I meant like, tilt of hand, positioning, etc.
I know that you hold it with your ring, but how is it held with the middle?

FYI, this is the original thread. dry.gif

I'm just asking for some positioning tips.
I've tried a lot, and nothing seems to be working.

whenever i do the iSonic a bit of the pen protrudes out past the tips of my fingers.
it sought of makes it a vSonic for visible sonic.

i can catch it fine but how do i get it further back behind my fingers?

Start the trick holding the pen as close as possible at the end of the pen.

it's done slightly different, instead of pinching the pen between the sides of two fingers (usually 1 and 3 behind 2), you pinch it between the very edge of the palm side of 3 (ring finger) and the very edge of the back side of your middle finger. Then if you tilt your hand at an angle, the pen can "disappear" behind your middle finger ... i could make a tut if necessary, but it's pretty simple

Anyone has tips on doing Isonic 34? For 23, you do not need to support the pen by arching your wrist but since the pinky is relatively shorter, how do you keep the pen there? Or isit all about angles?

Bonkura was filming from underneath his hand so he just had to let it rest on top.
its all to do with the camera angle.

What is a good trick to come off from an i sonic becuase i cant think of one because its at the end of the pen way down past the COP when im finished.

Bonkura's ceiling must have been pretty low when he does the iSonic, since u can see a shadow under his hand... Also, there's corners of alot of things shown when he's doing the iSonic... Does he just have alot of things on his ceiling???

I do my isonic at 34 with two fingers. Bonkura style. Requires some flexibility to get you're pinky that far behind the ring finger.

He drops the pen when he's done....

I'm beginning to think Bonkura uses some kind of tape or glue on the pen, and he pushes it onto his ring with his pinky and it just kinda sticks there.

Or maybe he took it away with a pair of needle nose pliers in the other hand. I do that all the time : P

I just "made" a variation of isonic. (I guess)
Inverse iSonic that is. I wondered why isnt there inverse isonic, thus i came up with it. It applies that same logic as iSonic, only hiding the behind the palm, showing ur forepalm. Considered a new trick?

Edit: This "inverse isonic" can be done (with my zt[short]) using the bonkura variation too. Much easier as compared to normal isonic bonkura variation

thats not possible. he drops the pen on the *floor*. and there is a box in the top right corner and he has a shadow on the ground. and infinity upsidedown wouldn't look like that.

in my own opinion, by watching bonkura's 2nd solo video, I'm just curious about 1:21....the part when the pen just showed up behind his fingers......I can say it was edited, that is my opinion.

    Edit:
He shoot this video with the camera facing the ceiling...I guess

    www.youtube.com

    !!Edit Again!!:
my opinion was wrong...I filmed myself doing iSonic and the pen showed behind my hand like bonkura
