I watched the keynote and could see the fail Steve Jobs felt, and the fail the whole room felt.

umm.... i really dont see the point of this
what i see it as is its an iphone/itouch on steroids
its too big to be pocket sized portable, too useless to substitute a macbook
the only people who will buy it are the people working the stock exchange, and you know what kinda situation they're in
i may concider liking it if it had:
a word processing app, compatible with windows
right click... there's no right click on an itouch or this thing is there??? thats the main thing i want
i doubt that this will turn out big

This thing has only one good use. Watching a movie while taking a huge smelly shit.
And for that to be awesome it needs to be able to communicate with computers around it, not just apple products, so I can continue to watch the movie I was watching on my computer. -

He probably means a webcam in the front and a higher megapixel camera in the back to take pictures with (which is a stupid idea because aiming around a tablet to take a picture would look stupid as hell).
As with all Apple products it's just a well marketed idea that has been thought of before, this isn't necessarily a negative thing (but in this case it kinda is).
The iPod Touch, in my opinion is a good portable media/fun device, but it would be nothing without all the "apps". (Notice I didn't say it's a good mp3 player? That's because it's sound card sucks >_>)
The iPad, however, is just a tablet PC with a glossy finish. It doesn't even do its job right. The only use I see for a tablet PC is for digital art purposes (drawing and stuff), but this doesn't seem to be made for that. It really is just a bigger iPod Touch (which isn't a good thing). -

I would argue that its more of a large ipod touch as opposed to a tablet pc.
It has no real "operating system" it just runs the same OS a ipodtouch does.
It cant do anything that an ipod touch can already do.... except iwork/bigger screen.
but theres already apps that do iwork functions.... so the only thing it has left is a larger screen.... -

It's a big glossy toy and Apple is trying to sell it as a revolution in technology. Fuck that, it can't do the simplest things.
It doesn't even have flash and it's not because it's a technical impossibility, it's that they don't want you to watch TV shows on sites like Hulu or the show's respective network-website. It's because they want you to buy them off iTunes.
It can't multitask, my dads phone can multitask, it's 1/6 of the size of the iPad.
It's a toy. And an overpriced one at that. -
