This is a battle to test our new system of Open Judge Call. Basically, the spinners decide on criteria for the battle, and post the rules and the videos, and anyone who can/is willing to judge is free to.

HOWEVER, judges MUST put scores in each criteria, and a short comment, for each video, or the vote won't be counted.

This system was devised to A. avoid casual polls (voting without any real reason, etc), and B. avoid having to actively find people to judge.

This way you get the advantage of judged battles, with the convenience of public polls.

fyi, I'm basing these points more off comparisons to each other than to a standard amount =)

    difficulty 4/5
-Your difficulty was significantly higher than hoiboy considering the two double busts, double TA and wiper side sonic~>fingerless IA
    filming 1/3
-I felt it was a bit too far back and the angle that you had it filming didn't show off your finger slots very well for wiper tricks (which I find can be pretty vital for wiper appeal)
    appeal 3/5
-The trick difficulty added to your appeal a reasonable amount, but I personally I don't really like charge directional changes.
    theme 3/5
-Both of you stuck to the theme pretty well I felt, but It seems like it could have been a bit more wiper dominated with the theme being so.
    creativity 4/5
-Nice to see some wiper side sonics and a Charge T1~>fingerless IA, but some of your combo was a bit repetitive
    smoothness 4/5
-Speed was pretty consistent (except for a wiper or two), and your linkages weren't un-smooth per say but didn't really flow as much as they could have.

    difficulty 2/5
-Not a lot of difficulty outside the double bust and 1 finger wiper~>fingerless neosonic P-TF?? (lol I think I was way off in that breakdown there)
    filming 3/3
-Not my favorite angle in the world overall, but it does do an excellent job in showing off wiper tricks.
    appeal 4/5
-I thought your wiper tricks had some very nice style added to them, but they were pretty standardized tricks and I would implore you to try and use some of the rarer tricks when it comes to wipers (Sorry, i just get bored of rev figure 8's and wiper 13s...).
    theme 4/5
-Stuck to the theme pretty consistently with most of the combo relying on wiper tricks.
    creativity 3/5
-You did have that one fingered wiper in there, but again it seemed like most of your trick selection was pretty standard (which I did give you points in appeal for doing well, but they are not really creative).
    smoothness 2/5
-Your speed was actually really excellent throughout most of your combo, and I thought the one fingered wiper~>fingerless neosonic thing was pretty creative, but that particular part of your combo was not performed very smoothly.

Nice battle and nice idea, guys.

    strat1227:

Difficulty 3/5 You have an apparent lack of 34 tricks which disrupts the overall structure of your combo. It has a stunted feeling to it as if you're afraid to spin in the 34 slot. Although there area few good highlights (the two double busts and a double ta along with the wiper mini-combo) in your combo, they aren't that difficult. I also do feel that your combo structure is detrimental towards your difficulty.
Filming 1/3 Angle could be zoomed in and bg could be cleaned out. Get your head out of the angle.
Appeal 3/5 Stylistically, your spinning is different and one can say, behind the ages. Style is subjective but from the modern point of view, your spinning lacks an appeal expected of the modern spinner. I also didn't like your direction changes as I feel they could have been executed better.
Theme 3/5 You included wipers in your combo but they weren't exceptional and neither did you include that many of them.
Creativity 3/5 Your linkage feels unusual due to the lack of 34 usage and directional changes but I didn't notice any creative linkages.
Smoothness 3.5/5 While it was smooth, I do feel that the pauses after the directional changes hurt your overall smoothness.

    Total: 17.5

    Hoiboy:

Difficulty 4/5 Although one can say the tricks are standard they are structured
Filming 2/3 Angle is sufficient. Nothing to point out except your nose poking in once in a while.
Appeal 4.5/5 Your style is pleasing to watch and I really enjoyed the wiper mini-combo at the end. +.5 pt for using a sky blue SX.
Theme 4/5 Wipers are done very well and there appeared to be a higher number of them. Once again, nice wiper mini-combo at the end.
Creativity 3.5/5 Standards tricks aside from the wiper mini-combo at the end. Which I give you a +.5 for.
Smoothness 3/5 Smoothness overall is good. Execution of wiper mini-combo is subpar. Consistent speed.

first impression hoiboy wins, both appear similarly unsure of what they're doing and execution suffers, especially start his lack of tempo kills him in some tricks where the direction change needs to be much quicker, hoiboy has better linkages as well, strat repeats the same stuff going around 12-23-12 several times
