I know Mats is very interested with this.

Basically to do juggling with need to respect at least the following conditions:

    1. At least 3P2H. There should be more pens than hands.
    2. At least 1 pen is always in the air.

It seems to me that the easiest way to do this is using the "Shower" juggling pattern. One hand spins one pen and throws it, the other hand merely holds a pen, and another pen is in the air. The pen in the air is caught by the non spinning hand, while the pen that was already in that hand is passed over to the spinning hand which has released its own pen airborne.

I don't know much about juggling, so I don't know how much time you have between throws to execute combos.

you'd have to throw very high and very accurately in order for this to be even somewhat feasible

The easiest would be the cascade pattern. You would be able to 'flourish', that is, do a pen spinning trick, in between every throw, in theory. I've had some limited success with executing a TA on my RH in between every throw of a shower with pens. In all honesty, I've not tried any juggling + pen spinning for like 6 months though and my juggling has go waaay better since then. I've also never tried without a limit on the throw heights of pens (i.e. I'm always inside doing this).

There are lots of things you could do with this, but I always forget about it! I think a really nice thing to do would be to juggle a three pen cascade and then throw one pen quite high, do a quick 2p2h combo (maybe like 2-3 tricks) and go back into juggling. You can also go into two pens juggled in one hand and do a combo with the pen in the other (not very hard to do at all).

The main problem seems to be in catching a pen in the correct position to execute the trick. You always end up shifting the pen a bit (which costs lots of time) to get it in the right place to start tricks off.

You could just be very fast instead of doing that, although, most people who can juggle well will not have too many problems to throw stuff high and accurate wink.gif

I will try to remember to bring the laptop to the library tomorrow morning to get some software to film with that webcam! Thanks for the reminder Zombo smile.gif

That's why I thought the shower is most appropriate, because the throw from the non-spinning hand to the spinning hand is downwards and very small, so it can be very accurate. the hand that catches the long throw is simply not spinning.

I've tried juggling pens and I feel that the fingeraround release is the easiest way for juggling 'cause I can easily toss the pen in the air in the right direction t get to the other hand.

Perhaps to get the pen into the right position to pass it back to the other hand is to do tricks very fast in to that position.

I think if someone could alternate areial tricks when in the prime hand would be very VERY cool!

I've tried 2 pens in one hand with the Continuous Indexaround release and it didn't really work out very well. I think at very best I can get less than 10 throws and usually drop almost immediately...

That throw is also very fast and is done blind...

I have managed to TA inbetween every throw of a high (about 6-7 foot high) cascade for about 4 throws. With some more work maybe I will get a better run. A TA every 3rd throw is probably more likely. To throw one pen high and do two TAs with the pens left in your hands is possible, although I've somehow messed it up each time in various ways, it's very close already. In fact, if it weren't for the ceiling and if I could put an extra foot on the throw, there would be no problems at all!

I'm also doing this with pencils since I don't have 3 pens all the same anymore (but about 20 pencils unsharpened tongue.gif). They are murder to catch because they are too light! Pens > pencils I think for sure in this case. Rushon mods were really good for juggling I remember.
