I'm not sure if this is inverse sonic http://youtube.com/watch?v=a9bmUVk7Rok

Yes thats inverse sonic. Next time, post it in the "What am i doing?" thread stickied at the top

Here's another video of an Inverse Sonic...
From a normal Sonic starting position, just do 1/2 a Charge motion first to get to the Inverse Sonic starting position. -

I just start Inverse sonic from a normal sonic starting position. I do nearly a full charge though before I move it to the other finger.

ya but i think ur suppose to do like a half charge and then move to the inverse sonic. i'm not sure so correct me if i'm wrong
-

i dont understand how the pen travels
-
Date: Mon, Oct 15 2007 10:54:48
like a regular sonic, but your middle finger bends backwards, not downwards(palm up).
to get used to it try holding the pen between 13 with the middle finger bending backwards. -

That's the way many do it, but the way Sketching showed is what just the Inv Sonic is. What many do, and what kind of comes automatically, is Charge 23 0.5 -> Inv Sonic 23-12 1.0 -> Charge 12 0.5, since the momentum from Sonic or whatever trick you do before the Inv Sonic finnishes with the pen "down" and the pen still moving with loads of momentum.
EDIT: to learn it, you can start out with the pen in front of your middlefinger in 13, and just do the second part of the trick. -

after practicing it some more today i put a shadow still into the inverse sonic would this still be considered a inverse sonic variation or would it be a combo this is a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phqmvs1hXUA

I just wanted add something from a UCPSB thread that I couldn't find anymore.
If Inverse Sonic needs to have the same Sonic motion as Sonic Normal, but travels along the opposite side of the hand, I would call the video that I posted before an Inverse Sonic.
For the following video, this is what we've been calling Inverse Sonic for a while (mainly used for the Inv Sonic ~ Shadow hybrid), but it seems more like a hybrid of some sort. Eburt gave a hybrid breakdown, but I also couldn't find it, so I made my own:
*switch finger hold from 23 to 12* > Inverse Sonic 13-12 [s 0.5][c] ~ Charge 0.5 12 -

How do you do a inverse sonic anyways?

alright I have no problem doing inv. Sonic 23-12 but 34-23 just seems ungraspable for me!
I cant lauch the pen without hitting my ring finger. at least not in the right manner!
can you please give me some tips for learning this, having in mind that I can already do 23-12.
sorry to bring up a dead thread, but I have done my searches and found no tips for my problem!
thank you! -

i have the same problem as you do, well i had it, it is slowly going away.
what helped me is stretches involving lifting the ring finger.
because my problem was i couldn't get my ring finger up high enough to allow the pen
to be gripped nicely between 2 and 4
although i can only do this palm down.
i find practicing devil's shadow 23-23 helps with the lifting of the ring finger
and as always, practice..practice...practice....
good luck. -

i have a couple of questions about inverse sonic
1. is the 0.5 or 1 revolution apart of the inverse sonic?
2. does any1 else have trouble with linking pass 12-23 > inverse sonic 23-12 (without charge) and does any1 have any tips?
Thanks in advanced -
Date: Mon, Mar 10 2008 04:14:36
Inverse Sonic only has 1.0 rotation, any rotations before and/or after it are not a part of it.

@ Sigurd (although late): like I wrote before, start out with the pen in 13 (although in your case in 24) and do the second part of the Inv Sonic from there. After some practice you should be able to do the real trick properly.
@ yam: it's not quite possible to do a pass followed directly by an Inv Sonic seeing how the ending position of a regular pass is different from where the pen needs to be to do an Inv Sonic. I'd say atleast a Charge motion of 0.25 is needed. -

thanks guys for your help! I appreciate it!
I almost got the trick down now!
23-12 is SO easy! and I really like the combination Inv Sonic -> Moonwalk Sonic (+ Twisted Sonic) and I'd like to do it from 34.
again thanks! -

try learning inverse sonic -> shadow hybrid its cool

isn't that basicly shadown 13-number here??? -
Date: Mon, Mar 17 2008 21:08:20
oh great! I have seen people mention that hybrid in the "favourite hybrid" thread several times, but I havent really given it a shot before now!
Its like a Shadow Still 12 but from 23 and starting underneath the hand. Very cool! Thanks!
Now do it from 34
btw. How can Sonic Rise be a hybrid? its just two sonics in a row. no interruption
I have for a while now, been practicing all kinds of hybrids learning from the 40 hybrid video.
He also mentions Out-In Sonic as Sonic > Inv Sonic. but I read somewhere that a correct Out-In Sonic only hase 1 revolution?
please tell me whats correct and whats not! Thanks! (Sorry for posting this question here, dont know where else to post) (I dont hope it ruins the Inverse Sonic Thread) -

I've tried this fo awhile I still don't get it.

does anyone know a way to learn the Inverse Sonic without using a Charge at the beginning? (like in the video by sketching)
all the tutorials I find always put a Charge before the actual Inverse Sonic... -
Date: Fri, Apr 3 2009 23:11:11
something will always precede the inverse sonic, and that will cover the charge motion for you so you dont have to do a full charge in your combo
just learn it with the charge
otherwise you just hold it in 13 and do it -

I am able to do a fingerless inverse sonic without anything preceding it, it is just moving the hand first right and down, and then left, then the pen jumps a slot. But don't know why anyone would learn that trick, it is not paticular pretty nor that useful either. -

Does the Inverse Sonic start in the same position as the Sonic, or on the opposite side of the hand?
I'm confused because I learned it the first way, then realized, "Wait, that's not completely inverse." -
Date: Sat, Apr 4 2009 00:42:39
same starting and ending position as the inverse twisted sonic, shown after normal and rev twisted sonics here:

my inverse sonic is still pretty bad but i can still do it, i showed my friend who also pen spins and he asked me to do it palm down, it was freakin impossible i dunno if it was just cuz im not good enough to do it palm down or if there a trick to it, any tips?

I learned Inverse Sonic palmdown before palm sideways LOL I find palmdown a lot easier -

So I realized I already could do it with a Charge 0.5 to begin with... but I can't get the Charge motion starting from the opposite side. :/

Yes, practice and work on your dexterity to help. -

very painful ....like fingers going to break.... -

Inverse Sonic 34-23 is quite difficult, for me at least. It's easier if you keep the pen as close to the fingertips as possible. Also, I find the reverse significantly easier.
