    What you need to know:

    - My Engrish is not perfect
    - My mic is utter shit
    - I did not prepare anything for this, no script or anything

So yeah, this is a very basic tutorial. It will have 2 parts, one is like super basic, the interface, project settings while the other discusses some techniques like Zooming, Slow-motion and all that good stuff like rendering. I had to cut the first part in 2 because of YouTube time limitation, I'll try to avoid this for the 2nd video which I still have to record.

I know my mic has this horrible static/white noise, I tried removing it via Audacity but it made me sound like a robot and when I lower my voice a bit you can't understand anything so I went with the unedited version. If you notice some jumps, I cut out some parts where I got stuck in a word-tunnel or I cut out these loud sharp noises that came sometimes came up, I didn't get all of them so you'll know what I mean.

    Vegas Tutorial 01 - Part 2

    Vegas Tutorial 02
    Have yet to record

After processing is done I suggest watching in 720p and maybe Fullscreen.

So yeah, I hope my English isn't too bad otherwise just tell me and I'll try to re-record.

Like on one side, like I did on UPSB 1st? Make your video wide-screen, like 768x480 and make a 128pixel wide bar in Photoshop. You can just make it on a 768x480 image and leave everything but the bar transparent, Vegas reads PSD files and their transparency.

If you mean sidebars as in black bars at the borders of videos and how to fix that, I'll talk about that in the next video.

how about the ones like for minwoo's collabs that have a more sophisticated background and has the little highlighter?

Probably the same concept as described earlier but they're touched up in a different program like Adobe After Effects for all the animation stuff. Vegas by itself is kinda bad at handling this kind of stuff.

Just got vegas, and this was really helpful since you're target audience is pen spinners and that's what I need to use vegas for haha--teaches exactly what I need to know, and not a lotta other stuff that I don't need to know

Vegas should know how to use mp4's it has a plugin for mp4.
Try looking for "mcmp4plug2.dll" in "C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 9.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\mcmp4plug2" (or your vegas install folder).
