    Hellos everyone.

It would be really great if anyone could translate webspider's tutorial for his Neo-Twist G3S.

or at least someone could tell me the parts. That would be really great too.

    link to his tut: http://forum.penspinning.de/viewtopic.php?f=105&t=20265

the twistable mechanism is made with an "ink converter": e.g. Cartridge pen ink converter
you can buy them in almost every stationary shop, several brands assemble them (webspider uses one from Rotring, I think)

maybe webspider himself will translate the tutorial, if there's enough request on it ;-) you should ask him^^

OK guys and girls, here's your translation:

Due to the overwhelming feedback I've decided to write a tutorial for my Mod, the Neo-Twist G3S

First some pictures for you to know what your result will be:

    Prototype.

This one is from the tutorial^^

    For kodijakk.

    Same style, but for me^^

    Abstarct Render.

    Graffiti.

    This one is from slowmotion

    http://www.abload.de/img/img_0404kfwr.jpg That one from tillibilli.

And the probably sexiest one is from densen77^^
    Stats plus comparision:

    -Length: 19,5 cm
    -Weight and momentum: between a Key3 G3 and a Seven G3
-COP = COG = COSS (due to modding COSS can differ slightly from COG)
    -completely german^^
-twistable, spinning-space stays the same after twisting it in.
    -no rattling
-very flexible. For example it would be possible to make a version of this mod looking exactly the same as a Kuzu G3.
    -spinning-space is as big as a G3.body
-very stable, even when you're writing with it. Spinning it twisted in doesn't differ from spinning it twisted out.

-Modding this pen can be difficult. Don't attempt to make it if you don't have any modding knowledge.
-My version has kuzu-like gripcuts. Not everyone likes them^^
-there are people who hate all twistable and retractable mods. I hope you aren't one of them...

    Parts and tools used:

    Parts:
    -a Pilot G3
    -a Signo Broad
    -2 Hybrid Gel Grips
    -a Pilot g2 ink tube
-an (ink )converter (is available in most big writing stores with fountain pens. They are used to have an always refillable ink cartridge and should be twistable. I've used one manufactured by Rotring, because they're made out of hard plastic and very durable)
-another ink tube (shorter than the RSVP-ones), tooth pick and spring
    -some tape
    -an insert
-extra grips (I've used a white Signo Broad grip)

    tools:
    -hot glue gun
    -scissors
    -x-acto knife
    -tweezers
    -sanding paper or file
    -pliers
-white gel ink tube (used the one from the Signo broad)
(-saw or something else to cut plastiv with (not on the picture))
-something longish to poke a G3 backplug out (not on the picture)
-nail clipper (not on the picture)
-lighter or zippo (not on the picture)
    -brain (not on the picture)
    -hands (not on the picture)
    -eyes (not on the picture)
    -printer (not on the picture)

    Parts needed:

Here's something important everyone should read before modding this pen:

CAUTION, THE TOOLS USED CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS FOR YOU! READ TH WHOLE TUTORIAL BEFORE YOU START MODDING THE PEN. BE CAREFUL, ELSE YOU COULD LOSE YOUR EYES, FINGERS OR TESTICLES. AND DON'T TELL ME I HAVEN'T WARNED YOU BEFORE..

You need the body, the cap, the grip and maybe the tip from the G3. First poke the backplug out, use your tweezers to get the grip off. Take off the grips and tips of the two HGGs and the Signo Broad. Print your insert. Put the remaining parts in your part box.

edit: If you want to have a really stable front, then don't throw away the Signo broad body yet.

    Front part:

File the front part of the G3 body down. Cut a piece of the G2 ink tube and stick it into the G3. if you want, you can cut out a small triangle out of the ink tube before sticking it in.

After putting the Signo tip on, the front part should be as long as the g3 cap.

Use your hot glue gun to glue the ink tube into the G3 body. Wrap some tape around the ink tube and glue the tip onto it.

If you rather want to have some hard plastic instead of tape on the front, then cut a part of the Sogno Broad body off, file it down until it is as thick as the g3 body and connect it using the g2 ink tube with the G3 body. Then you only need to screw the tip on. Thanks to slowmotion for this improvement, here's an additional image for this step: http://i560.photobucket.com/albums/ss43/GP...on/CIMG0001.jpg

Now you can start to put your first grips on. Here I've used a black G3 ring, 3 mm white Signo Broad grip and another black G3 ring.

Attach the Signo Broad tip and put the remaining grips on. Here I've used the HGG grip and 4 mm of the G3 grip.

After cutting a pattern in the Signo Broad Grip, I've pulled that grip over the front.

First lengthen your ink tube with the tooth pick. As you can see, it should be much shorter than the one from pens like RSVPs.

Crimp the ink tube using your pliers. After putting the spring on, it should still be over the writing tip.

Put the prepared ink tube inside the converter and then put the whole writing mechanism into the G3 body..

After twisting it in, the mechanism should lok like on the photo. If it doesn't work, make sure that the ink tube can move freely and that the mechanism is deep enough in the G3 body.

Put your insert in and file the converter down until it fits together with the inlay perfectly in the G3 body. With a g3 tip on top, the converter should fit perfectly into a G3 cap.

    Cap:

Take the small rubber piece out of the G3 cap using your tweezers and remove the clip using your fingers and the nail clipper. You should be able to remove the rest with the lighter and the x-acto knife.

Wrap enough tape around the non-twistable part of the converter. The other HGG grip should be ftiing perfectly on it, but make sure that you don't use too much tape.

Hot glue the HGG Tip on the writing mechanism.

Put the remaining grips on. I've used a black G3 ring, 3 mm white Signo Broad grip, another G3 ring, 1 mm white Signo Broad grip and 2,8 cm of the HGG grip. Then I've cutted some white stars out of the tape and glued them on the grip.

Cut another black G3 ring, cut it right in two and shorten it until it builds a small ring if you stick it into the end of the G3 cap.

Stick the Cap on the writing mechanism, the HGG tip should stick in the previously built grip-ring. Test the writing mechanism^^

    Last words:

    Done^^

Test the mod's balance, maybe you have to increase the weight of the cap using some tape, other tips (2 HGG tips or a G3 tip)or other grips or you increase the weight of the front using other grips.

If you don't happen to be able to get an ink converter, you can try to use other small twisting mechanisms. If you don't want this mod to be twistable at all, you can use a thick ink tube with some tape instead (see Soschie's G3 mod).

I'm gonna sell some of my mods in the next time, I can mod some for you as well or trde you parts for them if you have a nice offer^^

Some feeback and questions for the FAQ would be nice as well^^

    Thanks people^^

I've cutted stars out of tape and glued them to the grip. Don't like stickers that much.
