hellos.
Are there any piano pieces out there that you would recommend for me???
I am currently working on Chopin Etude Op.10 No. 5.
Any piece would be fine. Classical or anything more recent. I don't really care.
Actually I would appreciate if you gave me a classical piece, but not anything like La Campanella or anything thats uber hard.

hehe john cage is fucking awesome, but he needs a prepared piano to play that
i doubt he's willing to mod his piano to play this
rach 2 is obviously too hard lol, the 3/2 is more realistic but maybe too easy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtuMVBLEWJU
something realistic for you to play would be the 10/12 by chopin, also the fantasie-impromptu
maybe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB3dGqd1LVA -> baba yaga or the great gate of kiev by mussorgsky, which is awesome
debussy arabesque 1 is probably too easy, maybe the prelude from bergamasque, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiIVA7tQIDo I just love impressionism
try Ravel the sonatine, the first+second movement should be doable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L302PJFsQ-g
outside of classical I would obv look at game music. Final fantasy PC. look at my channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/Medsas
I would try Rufus' welcoming ceremony, eternal harvest, even Fighting should be doable. Try jazzy stuff like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YApGRgadtrc and Paine's theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCCMNRmiFSA or Cinco de Chocobo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_SxusLZUhI . Jazzy stuff is nice to learn because they teach you how to play swing rhythms, which you dont find in classical pieces. It teaches you a lot about rhythm. Here's another swing rhythm: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4Tq0k-9c6E

Seems to me you should start working on endurance.
Piano solo for Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue would be a nice start -

Ok I really need a piece now.
I have to choose 5 pieces play. 1 from each period and 1 etude.
So far I have:
Baroque-Prelude in f minor Well-Tempered Clavier Book II-Bach
Classical-Sonata No.17-Beethoven
Romantic-Prelude Op.3 No.2-Rachmaninoff
Contemporary-
Etude-Etude Op.25 No.2-Chopin
As you can see, I have no contemporary piece. I was thinking of playing Montagues and Capulets from Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev but I want to see if
theres any other pieces I could play. -

chopin is romantic
rachmaninoff is late romantic
chopin can count both as romantic + etude
if anything you should swap out that rach with an impressionist piece like Debussy (anything arabesque preludes, etc) or a Ravel (sonatine, maybe too hard)
contemporary can mean New age pop piano music
but modern pieces are usually very hard to play (harder than any other genre in general), montagues and capulets is an orchestral piece so I dont know about piano arrangement.
how about Toccata by Khachaturian?
its not too hard
