Yeah I went to my buddy's house and he was playing COD but as far as i know, you can only play as 1 person on COD. So we just decided to play halo 3 online multiplayer. I realized I really sucked at it.

Tips on improving? A big thing is that I can't aim while moving very well. I almost always use battle rifle or assault rifle. And we only played team slayer.

Lol, just play. That's pretty much the point. You can't expect to go into a Halo3 game and go 30 to 2 like you would in COD. Starting out you should play MLG settings ;D (4 sensitivity starting out +/- for comfort, button layout:bumper jumper (may feel weird at first but your gameplay will improve like flag running), look inversion: optional, I'm the only one that I know who lives in my area that plays inverted. :l

To play pro, you gotta start facing pros wink.gif

Ummm, put it down and play a real game?

    Or:

    1. Always aim for the head.
    2. Play MLG.
    3. Use BR.

Yeah, I don't really play Halo. Takes too much dedication. No point in getting into a game that's dominated by a bunch of 20-somethings with no life.

1.) Learn how to use the Bumper Jumper control setting.

    - You have independent control of movement while throwing grenades/shooting/jumping. It's the best hands down

2.) Learn the maps. REALLY LEARN THE MAPS!!!

    - Know the trick jumps/advantage areas in each, know where the weapons are, learn power-weapon/power up respawn timings

3.) Lead your shots when strafing

    - Bullets in this game are varied vs. direct line of fire. They won't all hit in the same spot.

4.) Get into the habit of aiming as following

    - (3) body shots, can be anywhere, and (1) head shot. (With the BR of course). That's a guaranteed 4-burst kill at relatively close-medium range.

5.) When being fired at from behind LOOK DOWN AND RUN FORWARD.

    - This prevents enemies from getting headshots on you. You can absorb 4-5 BR bursts into the back before dying

    6.) Find your ideal sensitivity.

    - Mine is 4 or 5 depending on how aggressive I play. This will depend on how steady you are with the joysticks

    7.) Buy these things: http://www.kontrolfreek.com/Game-Controlle...k-FPS-Freek.asp

    - You will thank me later

    8.) PRACTICE!!!!!!!!!

There's a lot more complicated stuff, but that's the basics.

I saw a vid on youtube of a guy no-scoping with a sniper rifle to take down another person's shields before hitting them with a few rounds of the battle rifle. I know exactly where the sniper is on the pit so do you think i should try this tactic out?

What i noticed is that the corsshairs for the sniper r really small so that's the only thing i'm worried about: missing.

well, dont get to sniping just yet.

br shotty is the best combo, imo.

br for short/medium range, shotty for close.

shottys are in the "tunnels" upstairs, and has i think plazzies.
    shoot, melee, dead.

orrrr you can ue em for stickies

Do you automatically pick up grenades until you are at the max limit?

well, theres 1 frag and 1 plazzy last time i checked.

plus downstairs near the overshields, there 2 plasma nades near the exit, those come in handy.

    From how I play halo:

    Always carry around a BR.
Don't use a pistol. Only good in Halo 1.
Use the 4 shot thing as iMatt prescribed.
    Don't get discouraged.
Sniper rifles are awesome. 2 hit kill guaranteed, or 1 headshot. Don't freak out because it has a very small crosshair.
    Learn the maps.
    bxr (Halo 1/2)

no scoping/quick scoping: if you're not camping, the scope is only good for a final line up of your target. aim, (zoom if necessary), then shoot

Oh, and don't freak out behind the controls. If you do, you wind up disoriented, which means easy enemy kills. wink.gif

Don't rush. Play defensive. Let the enemy come to you.

this does not me stand in a corner. Move around, but stay in cqb areas. At your current stage of learning, melee will be a vital tool to taking down people.

I personally love energy sword battles in halo 3.

if he's trying to learn how to play like a PRO then energy sword isnt needed at all since it's not even classified as mlg weapon i think. just stick to long to medium range with the br.

how about shorter range. I'm thinking of hitting them a few times from long range and moving in and the what weapon should i pull out before i melee?

i wouldnt suggest chasing after people. i mean, if you're far enough to hit them a few times with a br, you might as well finish the kill with a br.
