    Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)

A few days ago, I was resting my chin on my couch's arm rest, while I was watching some Youtube on my ipod touch. If I recall, I was probably there for almost two hours. When I got up to eat a snack, my jaw was numb and pain as focused under my left ear. My jaw made a clicking sound whenever I opened it and at one point I could barely open my mouth up at all. They say, the average width between your teeth should be no bigger than two to two and a half fingers, I was nowhere near that. So, I then put on my rubber bands and went to sleep. ( I wear braces ) I awoke with no pain or clicking in my jaw. For the moment I was glad, that the TMJ subsided, little did I know it came back that evening. Its been like this for the past couple days and I conclude to say that its due to my jaw's activity during the day in eating and talking. ( no I don't blow ) I've been told to limit such things and try to not eat hard things. ( I'm talking about food ) So, if anyone else here suffers from TMJ, I would like to know how your bearing with it.

Here's an article I found about it.
