I was just reading about the 80/20 rule that basically says "roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes." (from Wikipedia), and even though it was originally created for economics it can also apply to a few other stuff.

Usually its not just 80/20, sometimes it can be 85/15 , 90/10 or 99/1 and so on.

What i wanted to point out was UPSB has over 8000 members yet only a handful are really regular posters and even fewer are real contributors who really are the cause of the majority of the stuff on the board.

Just wondering what your opinion is on this.

well its because we dont prune user, many are inactive or even bots.

in reality every day, there are only 500 unique members visiting.

As long as Frip is active, UPSB will always have 69 active users. k

I think the contributers in the past have not been taken into account. 8000 spinners did not join at once, it was over a duration of time and throughout this time there has been a large number of contributers to UPSB their just not active anymore. It would probably work out to that 80/20 rule if you take into account time. If 8000 spinners joined at once, I'm sure about 1600 people will be contributers or active.
