Advanced Tricks / Devil's Sonic combo (originally RevtoBak thread)

In Kam's Devil Sonic Combo that is shown on Pentrix, he breaks this combo down as:
    1-Devil's sonic
    2-Thumbaround
    3-Catch and twist hand
    4-twisted sonic
    5-thumbspin 1.5
    6-revtobak

I'm confused as to what the revtobak is
the rev is a reverse thumbaround?
and isn't bak also known as the korean backaround, where it just spins near the tips of your fingers?
in his video, his bak spins like a weis backaround
is it just a naming problem that was just never updated and fixed, or what?

can i get clarification on this issue...his revtobak video goes by really fast, and when i drag the thing myself, the whole thing is kinda fuzzy
    thanks

    Reverse to Backaround (RevToBak) =
Fake Reverse (Fulltap Reverse) > Backaround

Once again: Bak is the abbreviation for Backaround! bangHead.gif

Edit: added RevToBak combo to the wiki.

is the difference between the fake reverse and a ta reverse that the fake reverse's spin doesn't go around the thumb?

and aren't there two types of backarounds though? korean and weis? this one is the weis backaround right?
see i was confused cause i thought that bak meant korean backaround tongue.gif

    thanks for the clarification

Fake Reverse spins on top of the thumb and index finger, it's a Fulltap Reverse.

Bak was always the abbreviation for Backaround (Weis). There's only one Backaround, that's the trick that David invented. dry.gif

"Korean Backaround" (notice the quotes) is a horizontal Fingerless Fingeraround (Indexaround, Middlearound, etc...). Why? Because it goes around a finger with a fingerless push.

Go read the threads about Backarounds and Neobackarounds for more info.

Originally, there was no such thing as korean baks.

When someone simple state "bak" with no qualifier, it is assumed to be the Weissian backaround.

In other words, the Weissian bak is the default/standard backaround. You must specify Korean bak when you talk about such backaround.

I blame my friend for my misunderstanding dry.gif

well, i changed the name of the thread seeing as how i have come upon another question over this combo

I was rewatching Kam's video on his website, and it seems like his first twisted sonic didn't complete the full 1.5 revolution and just did 1 revolution and then went straight into a shadow

i can't seem to keep the momentum of the pen from the twisted sonic to transition into the shadow
    any tips?

and so a korean backaround is basically a fingerless indexaround o.0..?
are there fingerless middle arounds and etc..? would these be considered to be korean backarounds as well?

(god...the technicalities of the names of these tricks are so confusing. I find naming chemical compounds easier than this now >.<)

I've got a question, why do we call it a korean bak?

A Fingerless Indexaround is a Fingerless Indexaround. Of course there Fingerless versions of the other Fignerarounds, Normal and Reverse.

Korean Backaround is (in my opinion) a useless, extra name for something that can already be descibed as a Fingerless Fingeraround (Indexaround, Middlearound, etc...) Reverse.

As to Kam' combo, the first Twisted Sonic is indeed incomplete, that's why it is called a hybrid and not a single trick. Read the [url=http://www.upsb.info/wiki/index.php/Devil%27s_Sonic]Devil's Sonic[/url[ article in the wiki to find out more about it.

As you are performing the Pass portion of Twisted Sonic, give the pen a little flick with the middle and ring fingers before letting go to give a little more energy to the pen as it goes between the index and middle fingers.
