    WARNING:Emboss bodies can be a bit brittle. Tape on the ends like the B,W,R example help with stability and non cracking caps.

    Q/A:
    ===========================

    Q: How Do I cut the emboss barrel?
    A: After placing the tape down run an x-acto knife around the body a few times, push down more gradually the more times it goes around. After a few passes the body will snap off with a completely clean break with little to no filing needed (if you wish to keep the caps at that length)

    ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">

    ***Thanks to +Guitrum+ for the video***

    Q: What do you mean place the Front and Middle side on the back? / Middle and Plug side.
    A: Front and middle means the section of the body which you cut the front off before cutting the body in half. Middle and Plug side mean the side that has the plug in it that had to be pulled out to empty the ink out.

    Q: The caps go on further/shorter than what the tutorial says
    A: That means you're not placing the emboss barrels on the pirat correctly.

    Here's a quick diagram:

    from left to right, The skinnier part of the pirat barrel at the left and fatter part (with the comssa plug on the right)

    The way the emboss caps should be facing is like this:

    Front <--------> Middle < RING < PIRAT > RING > Plug Side <----------> Middle

    Q: The Dr. Grip tip won't go all the way in on one side.
    A: First make sure the tip of the Dr. Grip tip is cut/filed off, then grind out that side of the barrel some more until the the dr. grip tip with a bit of tape will sit snugly without stretching the barrel.

    I still haven't been able to get the backplug into the superpirat, I'm afraid' I'll rape my pirat. D:
    Is it really necessary to cut off the front of the dr grip tip? D:
    but anyway, can't wait to make this.

    EDIT: so wait, we have to shorten the pirat? D:

    You have two images for step one... like the step one image is repeated twice.
    Just by the way. Very nice mod though smile.gif

    Smexy I wonder what other color combinations would look nice. I've already seen the orange one.

    I think white goes nicely with most other colors right? Cept maybe brown

    No.

    If you twisted the very top part of the plug plug and about .1 cm of the back of the super-pirat, the blue plug will come out. (just use a wrench or pliers).

    I'm saying if you fray the end (like it's a bit mangled it's not that big of a deal)

    wut, that's hella tight. I need to try that.

    EDIT: holy shit, I just found a sub for the emboss body; the bodies are shorter, so one body isn't enough, but they're really cheap, 2 for a dollar.
    only con is that they have to be bought in 60 packs. lol

    I thought this mod looked really clean and unique, so I decided to see if I could make a sub/variant out of spare parts. Now, I don't have a ton of pens at my disposal but I did happen to have a completely emptied pirat with the front clipped off (so it's basically a very light cylinder), as well as some uni-ball fusion caps from when I made and eventually scrapped Guitrum's marker mod fusion.

    All I really had to do was take an exacto knife and scrape the inside of the fusion caps to make the top opening more circular, like the bottom (VERY easy, took maybe a minute for both caps), then push the dr grip tips in (without needing to wrap them with any kind of tape). Since one side of the pirat is slightly smaller, however, I did have to wrap some teflon tape around the end to make the cap fit. Oh, and I threw a couple sailors on the caps too. Nude mods kinda throw me off.

    The length is still highly adjustable; just by moving the caps I measured that it can be anywhere from 17 to 21 cm. Mine's at 21 cm because I have huge hands (:c no MX for me).

    I also wanted to say that I have spun a fair amount of DC mods (including waterfall, vicgotgame's mod, & buster cyl) and, in my opinion, this mod is proving to be the most fun to spin out of all of them.

    I may take some pictures if anyone's interested, although I'm sure it's not too difficult to simply imagine what this variant looks like. I thought there may be some interest though, as this is slightly cheaper and possibly more accessible due to the lack of an emboss and comssa backplug.

    Thanks for the great mod, iMatt!

    UH the only uniball fusions I've seen are this lightish gray color. Do they come in white? if so pic please:)

    You are correct, they are light grey. IMO, it doesn't look bad. I think it would be somewhat difficult to find caps or a body that match the color of a pirat perfectly anyway. Even the emboss body looks a little grey-ish in the pictures iMatt posted.

    I'm usually pretty picky about the way the mods I use look too, but this spins so well that it's worth it even if it doesn't look perfect.
